So excited to continue my training with Michigan State University Counseling and Psychological Services! I couldn’t ask for a better fit between an internship program and my values as a clinician and supervisor.
Congratulations to all who matched today!
Looking forward to another APA Convention, and to spending time with the @APAMFP Family! When things all around are crazy, leaning into community and learning just feels right.
If you find yourself in Denver this week, reach out!
Shoutout to our grad student Jae Wan and our PI Dr. Joseph Cohen who attended @ISTSSnews last week! Jae Wan presented the poster "Are Subtypes of Trauma Well-Calibrated for Adolescent Mental Health Outcomes?: A Translational Study" #ISTSS2023#researcher#clinicalpsychology
On 9/21 we hosted our 1st Fall Intensive Seminar. 16 of our psychology fellows were selected for 2 days of clinical practice & advocacy training and year long one-on-one mentoring. Apply for a MFP fellowship to join us for more impactful programs like this https://t.co/YG3QFu3g2h
I love this quote from Homecoming by Dr. Thema! Let this sink in.
“Your presence, your voice, and your gifts are enough.” - @drthema#QuoteOfTheDay#Psychology
Our MHSAS, STAY & IMFP Fellows attend An Intersectional Approach to Trauma, Addiction, and Recovery session with Tomeco Washington, Dr. Jorge Wong and Dr. Deborah Healy.
Fresh off the press! Grateful to my co-authors @JBHB_13@AggieRieger@PiaseckiMax@NicoleEAllen4 & Rachel Garthe for their support on this project. Also so grateful to the reviewers & editors at Psych of Violence for their reviews!

I do not attend social functions in my department.
Take it off my bingo card.
Say I’m not a team player.
The consequence of silence by people who could have spoken up against injustice is my not showing up to keke and joke around.
They don’t get to experience my joy.
🚨NEW PUBLICATION ALERT🚨*Open Access* paper on racial, ethnic, and cultural resilience factors for Black youth who experience racism. I review recent racial-ethnic identity/socialization, religiosity/spirituality, and family/parenting literature. https://t.co/JI2TPljGA1
It's official! I've been appointed Editor-Elect of the American Psychological Association's flagship journal for the study of culture, ethnicity & race: Cultural Diversity & Ethnic Minority Psychology! Thank you @apadiv45@APA for this opportunity and for sharing the news!
This is so important! If the pin is loose on a grenade, it’s better to just pull it and throw it so you know where it’s going. If you ignore it, it could blow at any time! Give yourself permission to feel!
People love to say they can’t afford to feel their emotions because it will take over their whole day and they have stuff to do..
Whole time those emotions are coming out elsewhere including irritability, headaches, irritable bowels, sleep problems, appetite changes etc.
Feel the feelings people!

While it's personally dispiriting to see your work targeted in bad faith, what's more distressing to me is that the lives of women of color I've written about are being diminished and erased in a political moment in which we need their stories most.
