Not a fan of most of the decisions $IREN made over the last year and their AI (not Bitcoin) related execution.
I also think they desperately need more highly technical people in their management team and to adjust their terrible compensation, which is simply not aligned with shareholders.
BUT, the thesis Daniel Roberts shares here is 100% spot on.
Contrary to what X thinks, I'm actually rooting for them. I just think there's some areas with room for improvement :)
Be Barrons:
- Wants to write about optical supply supply chains like $AAOI
- Hiring DPT: who needs engineers to write about this something this simple? Let’s find underpaid political philosophy backgrounds.
- proceeds to find a new hire from nonprofit communication consulting
- first day on job: gets paid to model revenue ramp/margins projections, CW laser bottlenecks, internal capacity
- New hire: “I don’t understand this sht”, “looks like a memestock”
Barrons: “Memestock? looks like our next article, I don’t understand either”.
The media framing and X reactions around Leopold are egregious.
Framing his successful multi-year thesis from $SNDK to $BE as a "collapse" or "failure".
After July's surprising crash, then personally attacking him on top is just pathetic to witness.
It's almost like everyone is cheering for the downfall of others.
Yes, July's crash exposed problems with SA’s leverage, liquidity management, and hedging.
But his current YTD performance remains +80%, ranking among the best performing hedge funds. And he still has public equities after all this (just removed leverage).
I think he's doing something unique while being successful at it. And this draws the envy of others.
Gabriel is one of the few remaining CBs who loves the physicality and the problem for him is Haaland is one of the few remaining strikers who loves it even more

Shareholders: can we get a deal?
$IREN: here’s a $50M logo deal
Shareholders: no, a real deal
IREN: oh ok, here’s $800M for the guys who are diluting you into oblivion

$IREN founders award themselves $1.14B+ of stock based compensation.
Vesting over 4 years timeframe. This is amid their active $6,000,000,000 ATM.
I’m not going to say anything but I think it speaks for itself.
Tyskland allerede videre før siste gruppespillskamp. Valgte å toppe laget fremfor å hvile spillere.
Jeg tror uansett de tyske supporterne er kjempefornøyde. De fikk jo se stjernene sine mot Ecuador. Da kommer avansement i sluttspillet i andre rekke.
282,000 people are following Michael Burry's Substack, only to be down massively YTD.
He's winning though, making millions selling stock picks while subscribers lose money following them.
His top picks:
$LULU (Lululemon): down 41.37%
$FOUR (Shift4 Payments): down 37.35%
$FNMA (Fannie Mae): down ~41%
$SLM (SLM Corp): down ~18%
$MOH (Molina Healthcare): up 11.33%
That's a person that doesn't understand AI at all, but why would he care? He's racking millions off subscribers.
