🚨NEW: #Rosebank oil field won’t improve energy security or cut bills – but it will shatter our climate commitments & demolish global leadership. If Govt doesn't block Rosebank, it's complicit in this climate crime.

Take that in. Then try wrapping your head around the fact that we’re only seeing the beginning of a destabilising planet, while remembering that GHG emissions are still rising and the companies largely causing this are making record profits.
A bit concerning, don’t you think?

@p0usr Another I’ve heard is “I’ve decided it’s not Covid because I’d feel too <insert emotion here> if it were.” This is the insidious and effective work of making people complicit via forced infection. They are made to feel guilt that the state downloaded onto them
💯. Tackling the climate emergency isn't 'convenient' for now; but we can be part of the solution one way or another, or continue to be part of the collective problem
Rhodes is burning...What really matters is not that a Tourist playground burns, its the animals burned, wildlife lost and Nature destroyed...but out headlines talk of cancelled flights and holidays. If we think this is inconvenient..you wait to see the inconvenience of climate refugees, lack of food and water....floods, droughts and war....but lets just carry on leave that to our kids to deal with.
@RevivalCare Cognitive and emotional disengagement are real issues. Similar to HIV prevention; it's hard to reconcile the long lived impact of covid and risk it carries for the things we value and how we live right now for a lot of people
Neerja Bhanot was a 22 year old flight attendant on a hijacked plane, Pan Am Flight 73 on 5 September 1986 during a stopover
The terrorists demanded her to collect the passports of all the passengers, intending to identify the Americans among them. Recognizing the danger this posed, she and her fellow attendants under her charge hid the passports of the American passengers, some under seats and others down a garbage chute, making it difficult for the hijackers to distinguish between nationalities.
As the hijacking stretched on for 17 hours the terrorists eventually resorted to violence by opening fire and setting off explosives.
Neerja opened one of the airplane doors, and even though she could have been the first one to escape from the aircraft, she did not do so and instead started helping the other passengers and unaccompanied children. That is when she was caught and her courage was met with extreme cruelty. She was killed.
Neerja's actions saved many lives.
In addition to saving the lives of many hostages, Neerja Bhanot also helped prevent the plane from getting off the ground
A young child on board, who was just seven years old at the time, grew up to become a captain for a major airline. He credits Neerja as his inspiration, acknowledging that he owes every day of his life to her
You probably won’t read in the papers today about the consultant surgeon who padlocked the operating theatres shut when there was no PPE, and safeguarded lives by refusing to operate until PPE was found.
You won’t find out about the consultant who put her hand up and fought…
@MeanestTA Honestly this hits me on so many levels 😂, one cousin outed another (incorrectly, it was meeeee) leading to family drama
And I've offered a service to friends involving rappelling in at partner intros & outing myself, then rappelling out. It *would* work for most 😂
Healthy couples do 4 key things differently:
1. They don't engage in character attacks, shaming, or scorekeeping
2. They address it, rather than avoiding it
3. They respect disagreement rather than viewing it as a threat
4. They know when to let it go
By staying in the secretive Energy Charter Treaty, the UK Government is choosing to protect polluters over the planet.

URGENT: Big pharma is desperately trying to overhaul a key NHS pricing deal. If they’re successful it will cost us an extra £2.5 BILLION A YEAR – money that could be used to properly fund the NHS.
