@ivylessner @amber_puga@stevanzetti Dead on, the most ardent “anti gov” people I know are all current or former gov employers or entitlement beneficiaries
@brenna__smith reminds me of safety training & OSHA regs in manufacturing. If employee is properly trained and violates a safety rule / procedure (tactics) and is hurt, they may be written up or fired. Not for injury but for violating the rule/policy,need something similar in policing
@seanphughes99 We are struggling to staff our factories at the busiest time of year. Large groups of seasonal staff have walked off and finding more has been next to impossible. It’s the stimulus combined with increased unemployment benefits.
@ryanstephens Yikes, not sure I’m in agreement with what this signals / implies. You’re right there will be inequality, and we each have to own our situation... but collectively don’t we have an obligation to each other to try and eradicate it where possible?
@ryanstephens 2/2The hard part is, as a leader, creating an environment that allows and encourages people with different experiences to bring those experiences and their perspective to the table. Understanding and addressing your biases and the impact they have on your team is critical in this
@ryanstephens 1/2 I think you’re citing affirmative action numbers. I’m have limited direct experience with that. Mine comes from directly recruiting, hiring and managing diverse teams. Honestly the easy part is hiring for diversity.
@seanphughes99 Great thread and insight. Has me thinking on the hierarchy of needs / liberties. When someone doesn’t fear the police in this way they can focus on more cultural and financial liberties. Becomes another way to keep different groups down etc.
