Do you work at @SheffieldHosp , and would like to try cycling to work with some peer support?

Ummm.... This study seems to show that the shoe-stiffening carbon plates make elite distance runners faster, but either doesn't help or may even decrease running economy in the recreational runners! https://t.co/F7CiQbDyfy
This research paper on level of activity post knee replacement and risk of revision surgery shows higher levels of physical activity do NOT wear out knee replacements faster! It may even be beneficial! https://t.co/FhbRMe5Ki8
Lots of athletes when injured ask me what they can do to speed up the healing process.
The truth is there’s not much we can do to speed up healing.
Nature takes care of the majority of it.

Barefoot running doesn't quite have the buzz of 10 years ago, but you still see some barefoot runners in Sheffield. This latest study shows it does increase the demand on your tendons and muscles - whether this is good or bad is another matter! https://t.co/SrMKzEJuZC
I get asked about the utility of hip & groin tests all the time
The short answer is there's a big overlap across clinical tests & key pain drivers - no test is particularly specific; some are sensitive
This is my take based on clinical experience - opinions welcome
In my 20+ years of working in the NHS ive never seen so many of its best clinicians so tired, so exasperated, or so demoralised… the effin Torys have brought the NHS and its staff to their knees! https://t.co/QBdQHDbNR5
