The slop cycle:
1) Company is caught or admits to using AI
2) They get blasted for it online and in the press
3) Company puts out a damage control statement, trying to justify their use of AI
4) This only makes people more angry, doing further damage to the brand
5) Company has a sudden change of heart and decides not to use AI anymore
How many more times are we going to do this? Sega, listen to your customers. We DO NOT WANT AI in our games.
Can we stop with this "at least it's not-" shit. The environment is still damaged, the water is still polluted, the price of energy still goes up, and the artistic process is still tainted. I don't and YOU shouldn't gaf how much or little it was used, damage is done regardless.
Yeah, no. There is no valid reason to use AI even for this usage. Reference materials exist, artists are paid to develop their ideas, you don’t need to run an idea through genAI to then draw it anyways.
I’d rather things I pay for be crafted by humans from start to finish.
this video is dogshit but he was right about how ppl should stop demanding representation from media who refuse to include it; instead , look for creatives who actually represent you
sorry but this is lame as hell. i really don't fuck with having a machine come up with artistic choices, even for background assets. trying to frame it as a way to free up dev time is kinda insulting. disappointing stuff all around.
