I agree partially. It's not simple to do. And we have grown accustomed to simple...fast.
However, most people shopping at the grocery store are even choosing the most expensive options. They want convenience and prepackaged meals. The foods they are choosing are not always the most cost-efficient. You don't always get to have what you want -that's something that you learn very quickly growing up poor.
You can buy a container of high protein Fage yogurt that will last at least 7 days for $7. Five bananas are just over a $1. That's breakfast for $1.25 every day. It may not be what you want, but it's healthy and cheap.
A lb of hamburger is about $8.99 now. Buy a can of black beans, a container of cottage cheese, a bag of frozen corn, 2 large tomatoes, and a big bag of brown rice that will last 6 months and make your own protein bowls for the week (should last 4 days for one person)
People aren't doing this. For lots of reasons...they don't understand how, they are lazy, they are too busy, I don't pretend to know every answer, but it is possible.

But your priority should first be on finding and eliminating fraud, and defunding programs that don't comply with the simple task of ensuring that recipients are both eligible and U.S. citizens.
If you get that under control, you will realize we don't have a taxation problem in this country. We have plenty of money. And then you can eliminate property taxes for all.

Yes...but unless you are significantly downsizing or moving to some place that is infinitely less expensive, you'll be buying another house that is just as expensive as the one you are selling because the entire market would have increased. Not denying it's a tremendous asset, but it's not like you are simply getting a different/equivalent home + the profit gain from the OG house. This is why most people are not moving. They will still need a place to live...
