@jjcoop36@BaseballAmerica Wood comes to mind first as a comp for sheer dominance. But an under-appreciated performance in this discussion is the Matt Cain perfect game against Houston in 2012
@JeffPassan Apparently to Dick Monfort getting caught up with modern baseball means hiring someone who hasn't been involved in the league for a decade. Awesome
Great pod from BA
Ego from an ownership family is solely responsible for the vast failures of this franchise and, most damningly, why people who know what they're doing view a job there as career suicide. Real change won't happen until the Monforts stick to just collecting money.
Can the Rockies be fixed?
The signs this week are very discouraging, but in the second of our "Fix It" series, @GeoffPontesBA and I try to look at ways the team can improve big problems.

@OakTreeStatus Sure, but that was generally ignoring the obvious because top 5 picks don't just get flipped that offseason (Dansby the exception) . A Holliday, Condon and Dollander could entice but no reason to seriously entertain it. Trade from a bad roster to improve your outlook. Tovar's it.
@OakTreeStatus The only guy that fits this idea and would entice other teams to deal something of substance is Tovar, who K marks as "not going anywhere".
@OakTreeStatus Late and don't care enough to read the comments but *insert vetoed Realmuto for Rodgers plus nothing of substance trade during that era* here
Everybody being stricken by Devers being traded is borderline foolish. Receipts are available for the possibility and Boston ownership always sells on labor struggles--it's what kept the curse alive. Those alive never saw the ManRam years play out, full stop.
Thank you, Jake for work well done. But also for continuing to shine national spotlight on this dumpster fire. The only chance for real change at this point is continued, ruthless bruising of Monfort's hubris. They're only willing to listen when public embarrassment mounts.
“My favorite part of it is they think they are doing a good job. They question everyone else doing things differently.”
Wrote about the stuck-in-the-past Rockies, MLB’s version of Colonial Williamsburg.

The Rockies just don't get it and nothing is going to change until every head is pulled out of every ass starting at the top. Placating to those that care to cover the foolish hypocrites that have stripped this franchise of any pride is their best effort.

Suing for more money because the business was affected is being part of the problem
"The group...argues that the public backlash prevented the company from pursuing "the aggressive, anti-consumer tactics that it would need to achieve" its earnings goals"
