Promotion Announcement: Dr Phemelo Magau Becomes the Current Youngest Associate Professor at UP Law

The University of Pretoria Faculty of Law announces the promotion of Dr Phemelo Magau to Associate Professor, effective 1 January 2026. He becomes the current youngest Associate Professor in the Faculty.

From Kuruman to the heights of academia, Dr Magau’s journey reflects perseverance and the transformative power of education. His contributions to teaching, research, and mentorship continue to shape and inspire future legal scholars.

Looking ahead, Dr Magau remains focused on continued growth: “The next stop for me is a full professorship. I hope to attain it in due course, after putting in the work required to reach that level.”
