To the women that live with men or have shared space with a man...
Your man is going to come home, put everything down,
sit somewhere like a statue, or grab a book, be on his phone or game, newspaper, passively watch TV, or just be quiet and numb.
Most men do this, especially after a long day.
In that moment, he is thinking of nothing. He’s not annoyed, teyakukyaye, si nti takufako.
He is in his nothing box. A place in his head where he wants to think about, do, and say nothing.
All he needs is a cup of tea, juice, fruits, or his favorite thing to eat.
Don’t bother him with questions like "what’s wrong?",
Don’t ask your friends why your man is quiet because they are going to point you into more confusing paths.
Just give him his favorite thing and either sit beside him and rub his feet, head, or shoulders, or go to the next room and stay quiet.

Thirteen UPDF soldiers have been arrested after attacking Wakiso Police Division on June 2, 2025, over a land dispute. The soldiers, allegedly from the Presidential Taskforce on Land Matters, demanded that police enforce an eviction without a court order which the Division Police Commander refused.
The confrontation escalated into an exchange of gunfire, forcing the soldiers to flee. They were later captured by a joint police and UPDF team in Yesu Amala, Wakiso District, and are now in custody pending disciplinary action.

When education becomes very expensive in top schools, by design, only the very rich will afford those schools. Just go to those ‘big’ schools on visiting days and keenly observe what is happening. In the long run, we can tell what that is creating.
In the past, while schools like Buddo were mostly for royals and their well-placed circles, brilliant poor children would still catch some chances of going there. Now the brilliant poor are automatically knocked out, despite of what their brains could do for the country, and lifting their clans from vicious circles of poverty. Talents are buried, the country too - entrenching social and ethnic inequalities.
Ironically many of these schools are church-founded. But I wonder whether these conversations are happening among the founders. Was this the vision in founding those schools? Is this Jesus’ teaching? Is the church (Catholic and Anglican) happy with their institutions becoming breeding places of deep inequalities and exclusion of the poor? Mengo, was this your vision of Buddo? Well, what won’t money buy now - if it can even buy Jesus!
