Polly Nichols is every homeless woman, past, present, in London or anywhere. She is the person begging in the bus shelter, or outside the supermarket. Homelessness and addiction killed Polly as much as Jack the Ripper did, and in 136 years, we’ve failed to kill homelessness.
This is our sign that we will defeat you. If you try to tell us men are women, and encourage them to hit us for their sport, we will let the world know you are doing it.
I love these boxing women. Love them.

Infuriating to hear @marq@iocmedia constantly repeat the IOC line “nobody wants to go back to the days of sex testing”. Yes they do! Women athletes always wanted it and still do. Maybe @iocmedia do know what women are. They’re good at ignoring them.
The IOC appear unsure of why sport would test the sex of athletes. In a bonus (short 16min) podcast, I explain the reasons, how categories only work when excluding some people and why screening is not arbitrary but essential to fairness & safety for women: https://t.co/qXTOA4oyMC
BREAKING - LIVE IBA press conference: Blood tests were carried out on both boxers (Lin and Khelif) in Istanbul in 2022, results were inconsistent.
Second blood test carried out in March 2023. Chromosomes showed that both boxers are ineligible to compete in women's events. This was ratified by the IBA Board.
Both could appeal, Lin did not appeal, legally binding result. Khalif challenged it, but result was that no further action was to be taken.
All these results were communicated to the IOC - so the IOC do have this information but have done nothing. IOC rely simply on the passport to ‘assess’ what sex athletes are.
President of the International Boxing Association Umar Kremlev tells Sky News that tests in last year's World Championships were done at the request of coaches.
He went on to say that women's sport is being "destroyed" by the Olympics.

1/ This is a summary of my take on the controversy surrounding Olympic boxing. If any facts are wrong, please help me correct them. Sorry for the long thread.
Doriane Lambelet-Coleman isn’t a household (read: Twitter) name in this fight. DLC is absolutely an authority on this issue. This is an excellent summary, for @Quillette
XY Athletes in Women’s Olympic Boxing: The Paris 2024 Controversy Explained https://t.co/wWp41OsG3y
Has anyone given any kind of plausible explanation as to why the International Boxing Association and World Boxing Organization would lie about the results of multiple athletes chromosomal tests yet?
It's such a far fetched claim it's bonkers. >
Of course, you know it is a DSD case. That’s why you corrected it. Allowing men with DSD to compete against women is immoral and shows the deep misogyny at the roots of the IOC. You don’t care about women’s safety and their right to a fair competition. What a shame @iocmedia #Paris2024 #WomensRights
