@mattlindner I’m convinced it was their prices. absolutely prime real estate, awesome idea for an area that is quick eats and bars and baseball.. but the freaking prices were too insane. I don’t know anyone willing to pay $200 + for bowling. That’s insane
@nevergunahappen@DeAngelisCorey The students and parents. Go to a Chicago public school and you’ll see a bunch of kids who can’t even speak fluent English and neither can their parents. Yet we expect them to pass tests and do well in other subjects. They can’t read because they don’t know English!!
@clerpatriot Girl yeahhh, but the private school option just isn’t realistic at all!! I looked into it and would be 24k FOR KINDERGARTEN at our neighborhood private school option. Like I gotta work.. homeschool can’t happen.. private can’t happen cause cost.. it’s like a no win situation
@MJTruthUltra My kids CPS school literally ignored this whole nonsense pretty much, and thank god. Parents got a quick email from the principal saying school is in session, no field trips, no buses. That was the end of it.
@msanta1251@RaymondALopez@ChicagosMayor 100% this. When people feel safe and like effort is actually being put in to keep it that way, people will invest in things.
@RaymondALopez@ILSecOfState I see multiple cars drive the wrong way on a 1 way street avoiding the multiple do not enter signs along the way.. every single morning in Edgewater. A busy area in the morning w/school drop offs & just everyday traffic in general. It’s appalling this hasn’t been even addressed
@Tuff__Crowd I have such a problem with AAU bball now. It’s just so backwards to me now. AAU used to be for the kids who had the desire to play after HS and who were really good. Now it’s for everyone who has the pockets. Rec sports don’t exist.. it’s just all a mess.
@itsnwts Yes. Not often, but if they have strung together a lot of days in a row and doing what they are supposed to be doing.. a little metal health fun day is totally fine with me.
As adults, we need a day off sometimes just cause so I understand as a parent.
@AELeighton2@0riettaRose I agree completely. This is the way!
My kid has an “old school” teacher that aligns with what you stated and it’s been a BLESSING! I am so sad we will have to have a different teacher for next grade hahaha
@Milenatehoff This is frustrating as a CPS parent. My kids teacher -school(principal and all) want to be in class May 1st… it’s a regular scheduled Friday at school.
Why is this May 1st thing even a thing? If the actual teachers and schools don’t care for it.. why push it? It’s weird
@RaymondALopez@ChicagosMayor What are they even wanting to “protest?”
I just don’t understand why this is even a thing. It’s a regular scheduled Friday at school.. keep it that way. Do your protests on Saturday or Sunday.. why is this even a thing?
