Raised a spur- o-the- moment Antenna, in the dark, rain and cold. stuffed wire n xformr in half inch pvc pipe, strapped to pole and lashed to Eve. Why not do this in nice weather? vhf scanner on air!

@M1HAX 14mhz can be fun, 1 of the few freqs. that transmits ground waves, space waves, and will do dx skip on E, F layer with a beam ant. very sensitive to antenna types. my grandpa wandered Wales, but Im sure he activated more bottles of Rye than radios. haha

@K4KHOMetroATL I enjoy the heck out of my G90. its a bit heavy, gets warm, but all the built in features saves cables and messes. great ATU, CW trainer n reader, noise filters, n signal display. take a break, chew the rag on 10m ssb! Edward

@Gary104DX you know how to do it right, Gary. looks like radiator is more than 10 feet off ground, & more rf ground surface than radiator. always best for 27mhz. we just recently got FM here in US. I haven't tried it yet, but audio sounds nice. thnx . Edward

@ea4eoz good survival item to collect/ hoard. I dont know if anyone is manufacturing them anymore. great reference, analog gear, QRP, educational. steel n bakelite is more common here. transparents r great for custom gear. thnx. E.

@JL1VNQ I enjoy those eye tubes very much. many numbers still available. I think originally made in USA, but then in many other countries also. good wide band sensor n indicator.

@drmna_info Now, they have to give you written permission to speak for them, w. any of the local authorities, medical, etc. You have tonnes of paperwork & research to look forward to! If thier not emancipated any time soon, u still get all the bills! hehe :) E

@drmna_info ya, some of that recording was done for marketing, effective audio for low end car radios, portable transistors, and AM top 40. any analog recording is great listening on various equipment. we coveted AAA LPs. :) Edward
