Adrian Ottah, a 17-year-old from Newark, New Jersey, has achieved an impressive academic milestone by earning both a high school diploma and a two-year college associateโs degree simultaneously.
Ottah, who attends University High School, participated in a program where college professors teach college-level courses to select high school students. Through this program, he accumulated 60 college credits, maintaining a GPA of over 3.0 in his college classes while also achieving a 3.5 GPA in high school.
Motivated by his immigrant parentsโ sacrifices and their dreams of greener pastures in America, Ottah dedicated countless hours to his studies. His mother, Miriam Watson, expressed immense pride in her sonโs accomplishments, acknowledging the exceptional nature of his achievements.
With the college credits he has already earned, Ottah is on track to graduate from college by the age of 19. He aims to further study computer programming in college as well as to honor his parentsโ efforts and change the trajectory of his familyโs future in a single generation.
