#Malta: Nine years ago today, investigative journalist #DaphneCaruanaGalizia was murdered in a car bomb near her home in Bidnija.
Malta has still not convicted the person or people who orchestrated this horrific act, setting a terrible precedent that resonates across Europe.
Impunity cannot and must not prevail. Those who ordered Daphne’s assassination must be held to account and Malta must swiftly introduce comprehensive rule of law and media reforms to protect journalists and guarantee press freedom in this European Union member state.

#India: CPJ is deeply concerned by reports that women journalists — including @NDTV's Vasudha Venugopal (@Vasudha156) and @TanushkaDutta, @MaktoobMedia’s Fida Fathima, Nada Saeeda, and Akhtarisa Ansari and The @WashingtonPost columnist @RanaAyyub — have faced heckling, abuse, and threats while covering protests in New Delhi.
Heckling, verbal abuse, and threats are not harmless: They can escalate into physical attacks and put journalists’ safety at risk, particularly in volatile protest settings. Everyone must respect journalists’ right to report, regardless of whether they agree with their coverage. Authorities must ensure journalists can work safely without intimidation and threats.
