This was a basic verification failure. They were wrong about my location, and they are wrong about the successes of this FBI and our partnership with State, Local, and Tribal Law Enforcement. Prior FBI leadership’s decisions to largely avoid working with state and local law enforcement absent a direct federal nexus was a COMPLETE FAILURE.

WE changed that strategy. WE prioritized cooperation over bureaucratic turf wars. WE put getting criminals off the streets ahead of arrest statistics and institutional egos.

And I firmly believe that shift helped drive crime down. I will not sit quietly while people distort the record and take credit for a strategy they never supported.
