Our founders presented Digantara’s Gen 2 optical payload to Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi, built for Space Domain Awareness and now advancing towards missile defence. After hearing about what it could do, he smiled and asked, “Is this for me? Then I’m keeping this.” A moment our team will remember for a long time.

The Prime Minister’s curiosity and depth of interest in what we were building was remarkable. It is this belief in Indian technology and its builders that has made this an extraordinary time to build for India.

Just came out after meeting the Honourable Prime Minister of India @narendramodi ji today. Immensely fired up to do way more way faster. Spoke about Pixxel. Presented our credentials and showed him our imagery that’s in use globally. And he signed one exhibit too! Vande Mataram indeed.

India has come a long way in space. Five years ago, a handful of us met Prime Minister @narendramodi at the inauguration of @INSPACeIND , carrying an idea and a lot of conviction. Today, 20 of us had the privilege of meeting him again, this time with years of building behind us.

Perhaps that’s the story of India’s new space age: small teams being given the confidence to dream big, build hard things and serve the nation. His encouragement today meant a lot to all of us. 🇮🇳

It was wonderful to meet the Yuva Urja of India’s space sector…young entrepreneurs and innovators who have shown remarkable courage by entering a new and demanding domain. They have taken risks, trusted the reform process and remained consistent in their efforts. Due to this, India has achieved a lot in the space sector in the last few years.

The StartUps made insightful presentations on their work. They also appreciated the space reforms of the Government and how it encouraged them to grow further in this sector.

I assured the space StartUps that Government of India will continue to stand with them as they build India’s capabilities for the future. India can offer the world a strong, innovative and commercially viable model in the space sector.

I also urged the StartUps to think about how space technology can contribute immensely to agriculture, livestock management, dairy, environment and many other areas that touch everyday lives. They can engage with Atal Tinkering Labs, spark curiosity among schoolchildren and inspire the next generation to participate in the space sector.

Honest feedback for the GoI to consider, offered as a well-wisher:

1. E20 is a massive issue. Just because people aren't protesting in the streets doesn't mean it isn't. There is a simmering anger everywhere.

2. The root cause of this mess is singular: someone decided it was acceptable to ignore the National Policy on Biofuels 2018's plan to introduce E20 in 2030, which would have allowed older, non-compliant vehicles to phase out naturally. Instead, E20 was rolled out despite the fact that most vehicles on the road are not calibrated to run on it.

3. There is no "lobby" behind this public frustration. If the govt believes there is, they should expose the nexus and let citizens decide for themselves. Otherwise, ministers and spokespersons are only making things worse by using "lobbies" and "deep states" as defensive arguments.

4. Vehicle performance is suffering. Drivers are experiencing a drop in mileage and damage to parts. After months of denial, even Nitin Gadkari and Hardeep Puri have acknowledged "some issues" with Ethanol.

5. If the goal is true energy security, the focus and push must shift toward EVs, alongside exploring nuclear energy as a primary power source. The govt should encourage and incentivize EV adoption through subsidies and a robust infrastructure network. Ethanol, in the way it is currently being implemented, is doing more harm than good.

6. The solution is to provide a choice between E0 and E20. If the current fuel infrastructure cannot support both, E20 should be rolled back to E10 until 2030. This will allow older cars and bikes to be phased out naturally before moving forward. And also, do not introduce E27 or whatever is next till the new fleet is E27 compliant and all E20 cars are phased out, unless there is an infrastructure in place to dispense both in future.
