or ancestry, clan, skin colour or race, sex, region, economic categories, religion or
faith, opinion, fortune, cultural differences, language, economic status, physical or
mental disability
Article 16 upholds the right of every citizen to be free from discrimination, and vest every citizen with the duty to refrain from discriminating against others.
Though sexual orientation is not specifically included in the list of characteristics for which discrimination is illegal and prohibited, the law is written to be inclusive of all forms of discrimination related to an individual’s identity including one’s sexual orientation.
