Honoured to attend the 15th Miss Uganda Grand Finale at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel Gardens as Patron and Board Chairman of the Miss Uganda Foundation, which I have proudly served for over a decade. Uganda is extraordinarily endowed with natural beauty, cultural diversity, elegance and talent. Miss Uganda celebrates not merely physical beauty, but intelligence, confidence, heritage, empowerment and the limitless potential of our young women. Beauty with purpose!

@MwesigyeFranks SWSA is one of the most prestigious courses at Universities world. In Makerere, its cut off points of entry are second highest after Law. even the deputy governor bank of Uganda did SWSA at Makerere University. Please trade careful.
Hon. Asha Nabulo (Sironko District) has tabled a motion urging government to develop and enact a legal framework for the national smallholder farmers’ transformation and climate resilience programme.
The mover says smallholder farmers continue to face persistent challenges which undermine the productivity, profitability, and competitiveness of smallholder agriculture across the country and that once this programme is implemented, Uganda would be able to feed the whole of East and Central Africa and 89% of small scale farmers will be lifted out of poverty. #PlenaryUg
There is something fundamentally wrong when Ugandans earn in shillings, trade largely in shillings, pay taxes in shillings but are increasingly required to pay rent in US dollars.
Why should an ordinary tenant or local business carry the landlord’s foreign-exchange risk?
Every time the shilling depreciates, dollar-denominated rent effectively increases overnight, while salaries and business revenues remain largely unchanged. This quietly erodes disposable income, increases operating costs and eventually pushes up the prices of goods and services.
This creeping dollarisation of Uganda’s domestic economy deserves serious policy debate.
The Uganda shilling is our national currency. If an apartment, office or shop is located in Uganda and generates income from Ugandans, there is a strong economic case for rents to be quoted and settled in shillings.
We cannot strengthen confidence in our currency while progressively pricing everyday life in somebody else’s currency.

I held a meeting with officials from the @MoWT_Uganda who, The meeting also included Eng. Arinanye James and Eng. Alfred Ogik, who are supervising the construction of the Namagumba–Budaddiri–Nalugugu Road in Sironko District.
The engineers presented a status report on the project and confirmed that construction is expected to be completed by 2028. They also provided updates on the planned 8km of tourism roads, with 5km covering Nakiwodye–Busulani–Gombe and 3km covering Busulani–Bumasifa–Legenya.
I also raised the urgent concern of the broken bridge over River Sironko connecting Masaba Sub-county and Bugitimwa, which has tragically contributed to loss of lives.
The engineers advised that I formally write to the Minister of Works and Transport seeking approval for the bridge to be reconstructed using steel trusses. I have since engaged the Minister. @HonByamukama , who has responded positively. The formal request is now being submitted.
I will continue engaging the Ministry and following up on these projects to ensure that the people of Budaddiri East and Sironko get the infrastructure they deserve.
This is precisely the petty-minded politics that has kept Africa economically fragmented for far too long.
Aliko Dangote is an African investor. His capital should be free to move from Lagos to Lamu, Kampala, Kigali, Johannesburg or Cairo wherever opportunity exists. Nobody asks American billionaires why they invest outside America before solving every problem at home. Nobody tells European corporations to fix Europe before investing abroad. Why should Africans impose such ridiculous limitations on fellow Africans?
Nigeria’s electricity challenges have absolutely nothing to do with whether Dangote can invest in Kenya. He is an entrepreneur, not the Nigerian government.
Demand transparency in major projects that is legitimate. Demand environmental safeguards, fair taxation and protection of Kenya’s national interests that is responsible leadership. But telling an African investor to “stay home” is economically backward and fundamentally anti-Pan-African.
Africa desperately needs continental capital, industrialisation, energy infrastructure and jobs. Our billionaires must become African not merely Nigerian, Kenyan, Ugandan or South African investors.
We cannot preach African integration while practising economic tribalism.
Think bigger. Africa is our common economic home… Let’s provide African solutions to African problems…Dangote is a great example …let’s support him.

I requested Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) to consistently work in close coordination with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, in order to ensure policy coherence and alignment in the implementation of Government’s financial policies and programmes.
