Embargo #CraftBeer Bar, #SiemReap. Great little craft bar along the river. Awesome selection of mainly Cambodian brews (with some Vietnamese). Chilled place, good music (60s - 90s rock) and friendly guys. You didn't need many more excuses to visit Siem Reap, but this is another.
Last day of the good stuff before #KL so trying a @rudgatebrewery Hop On Board golden ale for @LNER. A decent light #beer. Goodbye to THE NORTH. London then tropical weather await.
@vocationbrewery Barrel Aged Mint Chocolate Stout. 12.2%
After Eights in beer form? Not quite, it's subtle, but still an interesting beer with big flavour. Probably need to give it another go π

It would be rude of me to spoil things by posting what's on the other side of these cans... But just a reminder, don't throw them away. There's a bear to create.
*Not a spoiler. It tells you on the box π

@tinyrebelbrewco advent calendar is a thing of beauty with doors & hidden drawers & spinny things. And it starts with a TIPA! I fly to #KL in 9 days and can't take it with me. Let's see what damage I can do to it. #CraftBeer#MerryChristmas
Had beer from the old S&N with a @NewcastleBrown and one each from @vauxbrewery / @MaximBrewery on this trip. So had to complete the set of original North East Big 3 with a Strongarm from @CameronsBrewery. Great to see traditional NE ales on the up alongside amazing Indie brewers
@London_W4@BrewDog To be fair, the barman later told me that the queue had happened naturally when they opened. It was the system customers adopted. They only put the lines down after arguments occurred when people who didn't know walked past to the bar.
@London_W4 Have seen this once at a @Brewdog bar in London. Was empty except 1 person when I walked in. Stood next to them at the bar and he said "you're keen" and indicated I should stand behind him. There were marks on the floor so it was a pub sanctioned queue. Barman served me anyway.
@HarviestounBrew are one of the brewers that first hit KL 10 years ago & helped changed things. Everyone loved Old Engine Oil. And after a few years away, they're currently back. I did say I'd try not to have too many beers that I could get back in KL, but, hell... Why not.
This was a lovely stout. I expected it to be a bit too sweet, but it's really quite balanced. Big rum notes, but still reasonably dry. Interesting #beer@BrewDog#CraftAle#Aberdeen
Haven't had a Pauwel Kwak in a few years. They used to have it at Brussels Cafe in KL back when they had a range of great #BelgianBeer & not just @Leffe.
Of course I used to have the famous glass with wooden handle, but that's now lost to the mists of time βΉοΈ. #Beer
Not sure I can fully get behind the recent IPA trend towards what they describe as juicy or soft. From my POV they seem to be rather saline in nature, like someone has dropped an alka seltzer in a lager. They're nice enough I guess, but not for me, given a choice.
Haven't had a Double Maxim in probably more than 25 years. Not since before the collapse of Vaux in '99, one of the "Big 3" North East brewers. It's now brewed by @MaximBrewery who rescued the recipe at the time. Cracking proper #NorthEast brown ale.

@NorthBrewCo Transmission IPA. A nice, soft IPA. Not normally my favourite style (I prefer a heavily bittered west coast or old English) but this is recommended. And you can find it in #KL as I speak. (Though went down lovely on a windy day on #Teesside).
