The Climate and Nature Bill, set for its second reading on 24 January, poses a direct threat to property rights across the UK.

Whether you own a farm, a home, or a small plot of land, this Bill could strip you of control over your property in the name of "conservation" and "sustainability."

Here is what property owners need to know:

1️⃣ Compulsory Land Rewilding

Under Clause 2(3)(f) and (g), the Bill prioritises restoring ecosystems and conservation. This means:

Farmland could be forcibly taken out of use and converted to wild habitats, even if it has been in families for generations.

Rural property owners could be ordered to allow government backed projects on their land, regardless of their wishes.

Those who resist could face heavy penalties or legal action.

2️⃣ Urban Homeowners Are Not Safe Either

The push for energy efficiency means all property owners could face:

Mandatory retrofits, including heat pumps, insulation, and other low carbon upgrades that cost tens of thousands of pounds.

Fines for non compliance, forcing families into debt or out of their homes.

3️⃣ Your Rights as a Landowner Will Be Overridden

The vague language of the Bill allows unelected bodies to dictate how land can be used. This could mean:

Bans on farming certain crops, livestock, or even personal gardens if they do not align with "sustainability goals."

Restrictions on how you develop or manage your own property, leaving you with little say in decisions that directly impact your life.

4️⃣ Generations of Property Owners Could Lose Everything

Farmers and rural families who have worked their land for centuries may be forced to give it up.

Urban families could see their properties become financial burdens as new costs and regulations pile on.

5️⃣ The Wealthy Will Not Be Affected

While ordinary property owners face bankruptcy and loss, those with money will simply pay to comply or bypass the rules entirely.

One of my followers comes from New Zealand & has lived here for 22 years & compares how she is treated to Channel migrants.

"Hello David, firstly thank you for everything you do.

"Twenty-two years ago I married my lovely British husband and immigrated, legally, from New Zealand to the UK. In order to immigrate I had to jump through many hoops... A lot of paperwork, proof I was healthy, proof I had savings and could work, police checks from NZ and a solicitor's letter to prove that I could speak English, and was told I had no recourse to public funds for 2 years. At the time we didn't begrudge any this because that's immigration law and that's fair enough.

"After living here for more than half my life, having beautiful British children, never setting a foot wrong, being fully involved in my community, I have just been told I need a new biometrics style visa to keep working. I have to supply 22 years of formal paperwork (copies of council tax bills, bank statements etc) which I will struggle to get together so I may lose my job. Who keeps their council tax bills for 22 years?!

"My husband and I are working class and being crippled by sky-high rent, energy and food bills - we can't afford an immigration lawyer and there's certainly no "charities" to help white working class English speaking Christian women from the Commonwealth are there! We are so angry that random people can waltz into this country, throw all their documents away on the way over, and get everything handed to them on a platter and now it looks like their visas are all going to get fast tracked for them thanks to #twotierkeir.

"Most of the fighting age men piling onto our shores are not asylum seekers so should be held to the same standards as me - police checks from your home country, proof you are healthy, can speak English, proof you have money and can work, all your paperwork in order, and no recourse to public funds. You don't pass all those checks? Then you don't get to live here. Anything else is just plain double standards and completely unfair.
