@JoshYohe_PGH Couldn’t agree more Josh. I’ve seen some Canadians posting that the better team didn’t win. To the extent of Canada having controlled the 2nd and the 3rd, they are right to an extent. However, to say they were the better team is to misunderstand the impact of Hellebuyke.

@MarkZuckerman What are the K rate splits before and after the all star game? He wasn’t striking out at this rate earlier this season from what I noticed. Right now you can pretty much bet on multiple K’s per game.

@klwoodjr We’ll have to see how he does for the remainder of the season, but I do like the initial signs. I like that he’s talking about the role like he plans to be there long term and improvements to analytics and tech have long been needed. Actions need to back words though.

@klwoodjr I’ll say something bold - I believe this young core is fully capable of challenging for a playoff spot next year if the pitching staff and bullpen are fixed. In my mind, we need another ace to go along with Mac and also a 3rd SP. Irvin needs to be SP4 (modern day Roark)

@MarkServello Agreed but small sample size. Adams has more power but I think Millas is a better hitter all around. Adams couldn’t be relied on to do what Millas did in the 11th today. Great two strike approach

I know it’s one game, but I’d like to see what Drew Millas does as the starter for the remainder of the season. No way he should be in AAA while Adams is up with the Nats.

@SleeperNats I don’t disagree. I’m personally in the camp of finding a way to keep all 3. At some point you have to have a foundation for years to come. But if you have to lose one, I’d still say CJ would be the most replaceable (King, Dickerson, or FAs)

@klwoodjr I’m with you on that, especially considering Rizzo initially called this a quick retooling and now can’t be straight with us. At some point, a good GM makes a move to shake things up. If not firing Davey, at least fire somebody like Coles.

@krassenstein Sub-bullet to your education bullet. Basic economics has to be an absolute requirement in K-12 schooling. It’s way too relevant for people to be as clueless as they are surrounding important topics such as impacts of deportation and tariffs. Nobody understands!

@OnePursuitTakes Spot on! The problem with the system is that it’s top heavy. We’ll be ready to compete soon but we don’t currently have adequate minor league depth to keep the title window open as long as last time. Can’t buy, period. Must build more top to mid tier prospect depth.

@GunnerStaal Were there other depth scorers signed that we could have fit under the cap (who also weren’t defensive liabilities)? In today’s NHL, $6M for three guys is about as cheap as they come for vet depth.

@HunterHodies He’s still a talented player but is also in noticeable decline. If “washed” is too aggressive, so be it, but scoring goals doesn’t suddenly flip the script. He’s lost a few steps and isn’t particularly helpful on the defensive end.

@TalkNats I’d definitely go Skenes due to the solid OF prospect depth already present in the system and the lack of an ace quality SP. Crewes would be the most MLB-ready OF, but I see Gray and Gore as more of 2-3 SP’s or even 3-4, and not having ace quality ceilings like Skenes does

@TaylorHaasePGH DK’s response to The Athletics masterpiece is the very definition of sore loser. Yohe and Rossi said they went through months of editing. If a source was wrong, so be it, they still had a source. Also, direct quotes can be lies too.
