I'm going to have to break with NRO on this because I fundamentally disagree with this sentence from the editorial:
"...Trump’s unworthy and abusive campaign to investigate and prosecute his political opponents."
Trump didn't make these individuals his "political opponents" -- that reverses the causation.
The fact that individuals launch misguided and/or illegitimate efforts at a sitting President, or at an individual out of office with an intent to run for office again, does NOT then become provide them with a cloak of immunity from their own potential criminal behavior.
To dismiss all the investigations as "retribution" - and declare them illegitimate based on that label -- is de facto immunity they purchased for themselves by going first.
The cautionary tale in this is as follows:
Do not employ the criminal justice system as a political tool to stymie the implementation of policies you disagree with after losing an election.
Political motives should not provide protection from an investigation as to whether your own conduct was, in fact, legal.
It’s not just the rank dishonesty throughout this piece (for example, the Comey and James indictments were not tossed because they were “weak”)—-it’s the (once again) defense of the Biden DOJ that is so infuriating here.
WTF? “The group seeks to discredit the Biden DOJ as inherently corrupt. The idea is to brand as fraudulent the Biden-era special counsel’s two indictments of Trump (notwithstanding significant proof of misconduct) and to rationalize the president’s pardons of Capitol rioters.”
“Significant proof of misconduct.”
McCarthy and NRO continue to run interference for Biden DOJ and defend the indictments against the president and J6ers without any acknowledgement of the political motives AND misconduct behind those investigations.
No acknowledgment of the unprecedented, dangerous, and unnecessary raid of MAL. Or that FBI agents brought classified cover sheets (agents with no classification expertise) to use for a stunt photo during the raid.
No acknowledgment of Jack Smith’s overreach in J6 case, which resulted in a smack down by SCOTUS, which resulted in the removal of 9 pages of the initial indictment, and one co-defendant.
No acknowledgment of SCOTUS overturning 1512(c)(2)—which McCarthy said had been appropriately applied (wrong again)—in J6 cases.
After hounding Pam Bondi in a multi-party series that launched shortly after her confirmation (hmmmm), McCarthy and NRO now dishing out more dishonesty, more revised history, and more whitewashing of this systemically corrupt DOJ to attack Blanche.
A sitting member of congress just admitted she would bring a knife to school and stab someone if they asked her to leave an area she wasn’t supposed to be in
"Things might be tight right now" as LA just voted to raise sales tax to 10.25% and, oh yeah, you're making fun of a father whose house BURNED TO THE GROUND due to the failure of Karen Bass, & who wanted to solve the homelessness caused by Nithya Raman's failed policies.
Austin Metcalf's dad, Jeff, just unloaded on Karmelo Anthony.
"We were robbed, don't look down, of all of these things."
"I said from day one, this was never about race, please don't politicize it. But what did you choose to do, both. It's about right and wrong. We're all humans. We all bleed the same color.
"You're free to make choices all you want, but you're not free from those consequences. You will face those consequences starting today."
"People think that grief is sadness but its not. IT"S RAGE!!! (slamming his hands on the table.) Pure unfiltered rage,' he shouts.
"You failed your parents, your failed yourself and you failed society, You don't belong in this community," he says to Karmelo.
"You're going to prison, You can't even look me in the eyes right now but you can stab my fu**ing son in the heart."
Heinrich Himmler, chief architect of the Nazi concentration camp system, proudly brandished the Totenkopf that @grahamformaine placed on his (now concealed) chest.
Never in my wildest nightmares did I think that someone with that symbol could ever be so close to power again.
This woman and current U.S. representative previously was a criminal defense attorney in a large city. And yet she doesn't understand that anything can become a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument if used in a manner that can cause serious injury or death? Things like cars, baseball bats, a frying pan are not generally such items but can be depending how they are used (like a blow to the head by a bat or being run over by a car). And yes, this includes...taking a knife and plunging it into someone's chest. Just profoundly stupid and/or disingenuous commentary by someone who is trained and experienced in criminal law.
The killers commit the beheadings but those who talk about it get accused of inciting it. The inversion is so blatant it should be self-evidently absurd, yet it has become so normalized by politicians and the media that a lot of people barely seem to notice how grotesque it is.
New Jersey grocery store owner is seeking the public’s help in identifying a couple caught on surveillance video installing a credit card skimmer on a payment terminal at Gold Valley Supermarket.
BREAKING:
The asylum seeker who sparked huge riots in Belfast by trying to behead a local has been named as Hadi Alodid.
He’s from Khartoum in Sudan. The city is currently under control of the Muslim Brotherhood-allied Sudanese Armed Forces. Beheadings are an Islamist specialty
They ruled Iryna’s killer is incompetent to stand trial.
The same system ruled this man was plenty competent enough to be released back into society dozens of times.
It’s past time to remove these left wing activist judges.
The Belfast victim has lost his left eye and has severe damage to his right eye.
Hacked at the neck, with his eyes gouged.
Men who inflict this brutal evil on others do not deserve to live.
Austin Metcalf’s mother had this to say about the Karmelo Anthony sentencing:
“You may have been given sentence of 35 years, you should feel lucky.. I’ve been sentenced to a lifetime without my son.”
