@beckster20@sabres1689@ej6687@achiappazzi_@advisortwk@bychrismueller I see your passion for hockey and disdain for football, but your anger is misplaced.
How many night football games have been played since the lights were installed?
Hockey programs do not deserve this fate, but neither does football.
@achiappazzi_ That being said, the people making these decisions job is to guarantee that these decisions never have to be made. Failures in other parts of the school are disproportionately being paid for by athletics.
Schooley, Colontino and their programs dont deserve this.
@achiappazzi_ Yes, but you're also now looking at bigger paychecks in guarantee games. What they clear, plus travel expenses are often covered on those trips.
Don't know actual figures, these are guesses. But if you clear $20k per paying student and offset $750k with guarantee games ...
@achiappazzi_ "Expense" of football is offset by roster size. I'd you roster 110 players and only funded 40 full scholarships, that means you brought in 70 paying students. Add guarantee games, and you're closer to break even.
@sabres1689@beckster20@ej6687@achiappazzi_@advisortwk@bychrismueller The lights were installed to benefit football, both lacrosse programs and both soccer programs, extending the time available for each team to practice and play when all five were vying for time in the spring season.
