I will die on this hill:
Presidents and Vice Presidents shitposting online degrades the dignity & decorum of their office. We want to see them above the fray, running the govt. solving problems, and meeting with political leaders - not lazily shitposting like your cousin Jed.
Co-opting feminist terminologies to justify your bigotry is… something. All because you were asked to interrogate your prejudice against a marginalized group. 💀
Yall watching structure leave our community and complain about the result of a structureless community and then mad at the suggestion of reimplementing the structures that were in place previously that created so many successful people in our generation.
Are yall ok?
We are addressing dress codes for college students on college campuses, an environment designed for COLLEGE STUDENT LIFE, and y'all talking about K-12 schools, work, and everything else because y'all can't find a way to make your "I don't like it, so it should be banned" point.
Weird. She wasn’t this “fired up” when the Hope Florida scandal came to light when she was Florida’s Attorney General - and that was actual fraud, embezzlement, and misuse of state funds…
The swing of black voters into the Democratic Party under FDR was comparable to the one resulting from civil rights. Black people benefited a lot from the New Deal, even if excluded from a number of programs.
Tammany Hall wasn’t a “lobbying group” it was an official branch of the Democratic Party, and the Hall was their headquarters/clubhouse.
We’re just not used to political parties having their own public spaces and being active participants in non-electoral civic life anymore.
I said this in another post… skip and play games at your own peril.
Voters know the difference between someone who shows up because they genuinely want to be in our communities and fight for us, and someone who only shows up to check a box.
And Black voters are on the internet, too. We see what some say about their cousins, aunties, and grandmas in South Carolina and other states.
There is a reason why so many Black family reunions and folks from up north send their kids down to SC for the summer: FAMILY.
More than 80% of African Americans can trace at least one ancestor back to the state.
We may live in different states today, but we’re still one community.
We talk. We share. We remember.
Bottomline… if you want to be the leader of this diverse party and President of the US then you will need to show that you can build a diverse coalition that includes all of us… this new calendar is going to force the cream to rise to the top!
Wes Moore is currently the only Black governor serving in the United States.
That could change this November if voters in Georgia elect Keisha Lance Bottoms and voters in Nevada elect Aaron Ford.
Three Black governors serving at the same time would be a historic milestone.
I fear some people don’t understand how the rotation of the earth works and think if daylight savings is permanent they’ll have their summer sunset time in winter too. No sweetie. That’s not what’s gonna happen
