📌 A reminder that 81 year old dictator @KagutaMuseveni, who is criminally clinging to power since 1986, and presides over violence, electoral fraud, and the stifling of opposition and civil society, is not and has never been democratically elected, has no valid mandate, and the legitimately elected President of the Republic is @HEBobiwine.

Counsel Sam Muyiizi addressed the media following today’s court session at Butambala Magistrate Court in the case of Muwanga Kivumbi and 24 co-accused.
The court granted bail to the minors, including Wilson Muyinda and Paul Mawanda, with sureties set at 10 million shillings. Counsel reaffirmed the legal team’s commitment to securing bail for the remaining accused.

Yesterday, a Ugandan court held a highly publicized hearing in the case of Christopher Okello Onyum, who stands accused of murdering four children at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Centre. His plea of not guilty sparked outrage among many Ugandans, particularly as grief and anger continue to weigh heavily on the nation.
Yet beyond the emotions surrounding the case, many Ugandans are asking deeper questions. In a country where justice is often criticized for delays, prolonged detentions, and misuse of legal processes, why is this case moving with such speed and prominence? Why is it receiving intense public attention when so many other cases remain stalled or unresolved?
For some critics, the answer lies in the international spotlight surrounding this tragedy. They argue that the administration of Yoweri Museveni may view this case as an opportunity to showcase a swift and visible legal response—one that projects the image of a functioning justice system to the global community. The proceedings are theatrical, carefully staged to demonstrate order and accountability at a moment of intense international scrutiny.
Still, amid these concerns, one truth must not be overshadowed: the families of the slain children deserve justice—real justice, not spectacle. Their pain calls for accountability that is sincere, transparent, and applied equally, not selectively.

Just a few weeks ago, Mr. @BitiTendai, a comrade and human rights lawyer in Zimbabwe, was speaking out strongly condemning our brutal persecution by the Museveni regime following the sham Jan. 2026 election. Unfortunately, as I type this, he has joined the long list of comrades in Africa unfairly detained by their governments for seeking freedom.
Biti was arrested alongside other freedom fighters in Zimbabwe for resisting attempts to extend the presidential term there to seven years and restrict the election of the President to members of Parliament only. It is disturbing to see this script, which Ugandans are already familiar with, being deployed in Zimbabwe as well.
Biti's arrest is a cowardly attack on all citizens of Zimbabwe by a regime that cannot sustain open debate about their future without resorting to brute force. I call for his immediate, unconditional release together with the colleagues detained with him. The people of Zimbabwe deserve freedom, and leaders chosen by them. The struggle continues!
The only thing I hate more than fake news is fake factcheckers like @PesaCheck, founded by @justinarenstein. They refuse to factcheck Museveni lies. Why is a reputable journalist like @rayjoe willing to sign-off on their @factchecknet certificate?
🚨“I want to assure you that Uganda will be free one day and we shall not only see Museveni leaving but his regime and colleagues too”~President @HEBobiwine
