This morning, a House subcommittee passed an amended version of @ScVanValkenburg's bill, which was originally designed to ban "addictive feed" for minors on social media.
The new version requires social media sites to limit minors under 16 to one hour a day on their platforms.
House and Senate leadership have an agreement on VMSDEP, per a statement. I had just gotten off the phone with one of the co-founders of the Friends of VMSDEP 20 minutes earlier, so they were not involved in the conversation there, and now we wait for what Youngkin says too
@AWGNorfolk@13NewsNow Thank you for your support! We are so grateful that you are willing to put principles over politics and look forward to getting this fully repealed as soon as possible! Thank you for your service and for hearing the people and serving them!
Democrats advocate for full student loan forgiveness and free college tuition for ALL students—but @VASenateDems convene today to gut VMSDEP (Virginia Military Survivors and Dependents Education Program). Tell Democrats HANDS OFF our military heroes! https://t.co/7L6w7Kub8D

@RebeccaCosta79 @SalimVASenate @vmsdepfriends He is a person of principles and has no problem standing up for what is right! The people of Virginia are blessed to have him serving!
Veterans. Hear the words of Army veteran Brian Smith and follow the link to tell @GovernorVA and @SenLouiseLucas that veterans are not political pawns for partisan point-gathering. Repeal the cuts to tuition for families of dead and disabled veterans.

@engineerbeth@SenLouiseLucas She hasn’t told anyone because she refuses to meet with the veteran and first responder constituents that have requested an audience with her.
@CandiMundonKing I saw this post and was instantly grateful for your understanding of the man who spoke yesterday who has severe ptsd and then saw your other post. Can you please clarify if you are affording that man the same grace you intended with this post?
@SenLouiseLucas You had the opportunity to fix it and refused to! If he started it, why let him play you and make you look like the bad guy? Looks like you’re more interested in a political pissing match than doing right by veterans. Your actions on Monday will define your legacy.Choose wisely.
@GeneMundy65 @Harlie2024 @JCarrollFoy She should be removed for dereliction of duty and neglect given she hasn’t shown up at the last few meetings and she’s neglected veterans!
@vademocrats@JoeBiden Is this literally a joke right now? The senate Dems are the ones that have been holding VMSDEP hostage. How come the house can get 98 patrons on a full repeal bill and the senate refuses to hear the exact same bill last week?
@sarahsoldat @vademocrats@JoeBiden@ssurovell Amen! It “keeps him from practicing law” and let’s not forget he doesn’t want anything repealed because “coming in for a special session isn’t part of his job”
@TylerEnglander @sarahsoldat @VASenateDems This is completely unacceptable. Who are they working for and representing? The people or money hungry higher education institutions that are allegedly “non-profits”. How can the house have a bill with 98/100 supporters for a full repeal and Lucas bullies them out of it?
