@DefencePolFed Hopefully this will help explain to members of the public that when the government or Chiefs say “EXTRA” officers on patrol what they really mean (like we’ve been saying) is officers on overtime and cancelled rest day!!

@GirlCop_ The MET have changed the wording to get around this going from using “minimum strength” meaning other officers had to be found to man the team up to now using “desired strength” which means a borough can be policed on just 8-9 officers. We feel your fear and pain.

Surely at a time of austerity it would be a great help to a force with dwindling numbers to have a special with....

There are specials out there who give the SC a bad name but no more than there are regs who do the same and want the stripes and pips for boost in ego.
