To me, this publication is a key part of what my lab does in doing fundamental science that produces actionable pathways for hashtag#conservation. The full paper can be accessed for the next 50 days here [https://t.co/G8ebygvMxM]

Hot off the press! (Had to crack this one, since the paper is about heat!)
We determined, for the first time, the thermal tolerance limits of the Common Toad (Duttaphrynus melanostictus) and found that vulnerability varies significantly across life stages.

Pushkar came to Bangalore from @iiserbhopal and spent a year split between the @iiscbangalore and @atree_org .
This is the second MSc dissertation being published and was co-supervised @MacrophysLab.
Predatory journals are on the rise, luring scholars with promises of quick publication but offering little to no peer review or credibility.
Publishing in these outlets can damage your reputation, waste your hard work and mislead the scientific community.
Check out the article by Seshadri K. S., Faculty at ATREE, on how to avoid the trap of predatory journals via the link.

Koels & sparrows no longer wake us up. Bangalore is full of toxic soup bowls and rapid, repetitive development. Which birds brave this, which perish? Learn from @KSSeshadri 's article in @DeccanHerald#bangalore#birds#wildlife

Across India, Blackbucks (Antilope cervicapra) are found in and around several protected areas, some of which were specifically created to protect them.
A study by ATREE on the Jayamangali Blackbuck Conservation Reserve (JBCR) in Tumkur district, Karnataka, shows why conservation measures for this endemic species must go beyond establishing dedicated reserves to include the scientific management of savanna-grassland habitats.
This research was conducted by B.R. Manoj Kumar as part of his MSc programme at ATREE, under the guidance of faculty members T. Ganesh and K.S. Seshadri. To access the paper titled “Blackbuck conservation in fragmented Landscapes: Evaluating habitat use in and around a conservation reserve.”

Being open country species, they do not always need tree cover. In this new paper, probably the first of the MSc 'Conservation Practice' dissertation to have been published, we explore ways of conserving the place and the species.

For his Master's Dissertation, Manoj explored how blackbuck used the habitat and how their occupancy changes over time. We found more evidence of blackbuck outside than inside the reserve. This is unsurprising as the habitat inside is wooded!
