@RotbergStudross @terrymr @joshuahoit@SpaceX Not sure about Starship. With Falcon 9, it is so light when it lands that even at minimum throttle, it would start going back up. So they have to light the engines at the perfect moment to reach 0 velocity exactly at the ground and then kill the engines. They call it "hoverslam"
One day worth of the 10kW auxiliary heating would power a dozen LEDs for 3 months straight. We had several cold days where the auxiliary heating ran all day long (before I beefed up the attic insulation)
@evergypower must think we use xenon arc lamps instead of LEDs. We heat, cool, cook, dry, and shower with electricity. Even if we left every LED in the house on 24/7, it would not approach 30% of our annual usage. "Smart meter" data my ass.
I don't know how @ST_Sustainable got into my news feed but I will be trying to get them back out. Every article has an AI generated image that is horribly inaccurate and lazy. Makes me wonder if the text is the same. To their credit, at least they clearly state that they are AI!
@USATODAY why are you sanewashing this instead of calling out the fact that he doesn't know what rare earth minerals are and didn't bother to learn about it before trying to make a "deal" involving them? This is middle school level chemistry
@UP_Steam how often does the tracking page update the location of Big Boy? Looks like every 30 minutes maybe? I'm thinking of trying to catch it as it rumbles through Manhattan, KS on Thursday. I'm guessing it will be between 2 and 3, based on the schedule
For the record, my session timed out and when I refreshed it, the discounted rate dropped from $333 to $278 on the midsize SUVs which is indeed a discount so I went ahead and pulled the trigger
Looking to rent a car from DFW. @Enterprise has a discount for state government employees. It does seem to bring down rates on most of the cars... but what's up with SUVs?! (standard rate on the left, "discounted" rate on the right)
@BCBSAssociation I'm trying to scout out providers for an upcoming trip with an infant and your https://t.co/WafAq3D2u4 website is in dire need of updates. And your "Report Issues" button doesn't work. Just says "Try again later" So that's awesome.
@ThinkingAtheist All joking aside, here are two real pages from my HS science book. This was at a missionary kid school in Europe in the late 90s. THIS is how the bible gets combined with science. It is totally forced and ridiculous. And they want to bring it back. #ChristianNationalism#Oklahoma
@TiemanMichaelA@MatthewTrag@Heritage@cullystimson@tzsmith Indentured servitude was for fellow Hebrews. The slaves "from the nations that surround you" was outright ownership of humans as property. And it was explicitly commanded, not just accepted as the state of things.
@theRealMPU@atrupar "it’s to prevent inhalation of bacterial infectious agents that could lead to serious health issues in his weakened state."
You mean like... COVID?
(Yes, I know COVID is a virus, not a bacteria, but it IS an infectious agent that could lead to serious health issues)
@mopoder@wilcard89@CNN OR... They have always been born at a similar rate everywhere but are/were forced to live closeted lives and/or committed suicide because they had no support. Kind of how "there are no gay people" in places like Russia and Iran. Yeah... Because ya'll tend to murder them
