@CehernandezEcon@riecker I'm curious about that, too, especially since the phrase is also part of the Angelus, the Litany of Loreto, and other prayers. π€
@CehernandezEcon@riecker Pope Pius V standardized what many had already been praying since the 14th century when he included the full prayer we know today in the Roman Breviary in 1568. https://t.co/hDGoz907Hm
@madelyne_07@tswifterastour It's not even dark here yet on the East Coast. If the doors are projected, this could take a while, especially for the CA crew.
@dragodimitrov@cordwainia Our Catholic parish doesn't do this. The entire lectionary is in place on the ambo when Mass begins. I think carrying the Gospels as part of the processional is just an option. I rarely have seen them carried in at Mass, and then it's happened only in more "liberal" places.
@mattswaim I felt such relief and extraordinary peace after always wondering if just "accepting Jesus into my heart" was enough. Never tell me the Sacraments don't bring real, supernatural graces! 2/2
@NoraPrinciotti@NathanCHubbard I'm just here to say "the smoke" in The Black Dog could be London (it's a nickname for the city).
P.S. I watch way too much British TV.
@SoVeryBritish This is true for us Catholics since Ash Wednesday falls on Valentines Day and we're supposed to fast. I'll be having all the heart-shaped pancakes possible on Tuesday. π
@cecsquared I buy ours in a can from the British section in our local grocery store.
(Yes, it's a real thing - it's on the same aisle as all the Asian, European, and Latin cuisines and the Kosher foods.)
Are you also feeling a need to make reparations for offenses against the Sacred Heart of Jesus?
