🤝It's #RandomActsOfKindnessDay 🧹Somtimes being kind can get brushed aside, in favour of what is urgent.
💚But taking time to be kind to other people can make you feel good, help reduce stress & be beneficial for your own emotional wellbeing: https://t.co/u3xOlT4VfO
Delighted to discover that Simone Buitendijk is to be our next VC; this looks like a great appointment (well matched to our 'values') to further extend our 'excellence' here in Leeds!
This may be of interest and resonate with many, including members (both students & staff) at The Uni of Leeds, such as @AbihaKhanLUU and @leedsteaching !
Next week, we'll release a new book in our #OpenAccess series: The Power of Partnership, edited by @sophia_abbot and @LucyMercerMaps

Joined an estimated 11,999 humans today at the #ClimateStrike walking through #Leeds (and millions around the planet). Surely we should all, at least occasionally(!), think more about others (including those still to be born)? Individual & collective actions #AFutureForAll ?
Writing scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) articles for peer-reviewed journals - practical guidance w/deeper argument about values and identities in writing about #SoTL
Fun to co-write it w/@MickHealey3 and Alison Cook-Sather;)

@Parkendlydia In addition to previous comments, don't forget 'stagecraft' and how best to 'work your room' (including knowing your venue set up and facilities in advance)!
Pleased to have submitted a reflective article on the @leedsteaching International Collaborative Writing Retreat that I co-organised recently in Bilbao. Hopefully to be published in the next issue of the (Leeds) Student Education Bulletin ... coming soon ...! #GreatCollaborations
You're not the only one @helenauea ! Plus if discussions on 'E-marking' at the "SLP Academic Advisory Group" early this week are anything to go by you won't be disappointed .... unless you expect lots of answers .... still much that is unknown/lacks evidence!
Really looking forward to this today - I’ve built in lots of discussion time so hope @leedsteaching colleagues are coming primed with questions (and maybe a few answers?)
This is something that was mentioned at @issotl18 in Bergen and a number of Scholars were keen to pursue further. I even considered it (eg. producing ‘a compendium of instructive / useful SoTL failures’), but already quite a few people in the SoTL area are considering this!
I attended an event just like this, at the same venue, a few years ago. Very useful to have the time, space, support and focus to develop ones own Scholarship of Teaching & Learning / Teaching & Learning Inquiry / Pedagogic Research !!
Come see our new look! https://t.co/CC2bOM4zDz Let us know what you think!
Same great home page, lots of changes to improve reading, submitting, & reviewing!
Thanks to @ACHurrell, @katconf & other folk at @UCalgaryLibrary who host our journal, & TLI & PAC folks for testing it!
#EuroSoTL19 panel echoes Bernstein “While being active in SoTL has clear & significant benefits for the individuals participating we should not underestimate or ignore the benefits of SoTL activity for the institutions in which those faculty members work” https://t.co/3fYgC5E22e
