“Our hearts are heavy with the news of this morning's tragic school shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia. We extend our deepest condolences to the victims, their families, and the entire community affected by this senseless act of violence.

We also commend the heroic efforts of the responding law enforcement agencies who acted swiftly to protect and save lives. The danger of school shootings is a grave reality that affects families, communities, and our nation far too often.

Let us stand together in support and solidarity, and work tirelessly to ensure the safety of our children, administrators and schools.”

Death Investigation-Raymond Detention Center: Detainee Cleveland Roosevelt Allison, 30, suffered a major medical emergency this afternoon. He was transported to Merit Health via AMR where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. Cause of death is unknown at this time and foul play is not suspected. MS Bureau of Investigations is conducting the investigation and awaiting autopsy findings.

Allison was being held at the facility since 04/13/2024 on a 2019 indictment for forgery.
