145 days for Nigerians to remind you of your many failures.

On February 26, 2024, your administration approved the implementation of the Oronsaye Report.

You publicised it and patted yourselves for the implementation. Then on March 8, 2024, you inaugurated an 11 member implementation committee, giving them 12 weeks to act.
I guess those 12 weeks are yet to come in the “Tinubu’s Calendar”, because 2 years later, there’s still no update or implementation.

Infact, 2 years later, there are now even more agencies, some even alleged to be fake, like the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) and National Brands Development, all under your “watchful eye” .

We don’t even understand what the Ministry of Livestock Development does but they have received ₦81.19 billion from our National revenue.

Ministry of Regional Development got ₦27.23 billion, Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism & Creative Economy got ₦70.30 billion, Ministry of Steel Development received ₦21.52 billion

This year, about ₦1.13 trillion has gone to most agencies the Oronsaye Report was supposed to end.

₦1.13 TRILLION.

The Oronsaye Report recommended a total abolition of the National Productivity Centre. Yet, the 2026 budget provided ₦110.68 billion for it.

Why should Nigerians continue to make sacrifices while government continues to squander resources?

If an agency should be abolished, abolish it.
If two agencies perform the same function, merge them.

The Oronsaye Report recommended merging EFCC, ICPC and CCB to eliminate overlapping functions, yet these agencies are still separately functioning and unnecessarily dragging cases like that of Mallam El-Rufai.

Your administration has had more than two years since approving its implementation.
That is enough time.

The new Public Service Rules expressly prohibits public servants from overtly campaigning for a political party.

What happens though is that people argue as to who a public servant is and who the rules apply to and who it doesn’t. You can describe a public servant as anybody paid from government coffers. But by that definition, even the President and the legislators are public servants. It would be absurd to expect them not to be overtly political. However, a political appointee is another matter.

Perhaps the better thing to do is to expressly exclude certain positions from being overtly political in the Constitution and in the laws establishing those organisations. For instance, the Chairman of INEC is a public servant but is excluded from political partisanship by the Constitution and the Electoral Act. I believe that the CBN Act too prohibits the Governor. You could do the same for other sensitive positions.

Senator Melaye raises the issue of potential conflict of interest in the case of the NRS Chairman. He is supported by the revised Public Service Rules but the INEC v Musa judgement has not yet been overturned.

It would deepen our jurisprudence for Senator Melaye to test the matter in court.

The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) has rejected President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 campaign council, describing its members as political “yes men” who lack the public confidence, loyalty and credibility needed to secure victory at the polls.

In a statement, APM National Publicity Secretary Abubukar Yusuf criticised the choice of former Zamfara Governor Abdul-Aziz Yari as campaign director-general, citing his administration’s record on insecurity, unemployment and living standards. The party also accused the Tinubu administration of worsening poverty, unemployment and economic hardship, while alleging widespread failures in security and infrastructure.

APM said the recent Osun governorship election should serve as a warning that Tinubu cannot win re-election in 2027, describing the campaign effort as “dead on arrival.”
