Ok — with Trump transition announcement this AM, we can do a real head-to-head comparison.

Trump critics say his full-on embrace of crypto is overshadowed by critical comments of it in the past, and that his admin can’t be trusted to prioritize crypto.

These same critics (pro-Harris camp) say nevermind the aggressive anti-crypto actions of the current administration that Harris is vice president of, when she’s in office, things could be different!

As they say, personnel is policy. So let’s compare them, and you can draw your own conclusions.

Trump Transition (the people who staff a new Trump admin and build out its policy priorities):
-Howard Lutnick, Cantor Fitzgerald CEO; Bitcoin bull, pro-crypto
-Linda McMahon, legendary entrepreneur and chairwoman of AFPI, which has released policies criticizing CBDCs and calling for crypto and private stablecoins instead
-JD Vance, the first vice presidential candidate to own crypto; invested in crypto companies; championed pro-crypto policies in Senate
-DJT Jr + Eric Trump; literally building a crypto company

Harris Campaign/key advisors/likely appointees:
-Brian Deese, architect of Chokepoint 2.0, which debanked crypto companies
-Bharat Ramamurti, inventor of “Bidenomics”, former Sen. Warren Banking Counsel, and crypto’s chief opponent in the White House NEC
-Brian Nelson, Undersecretary of the Treasury for Illicit Finance, whose office sued developers for writing code
-Wally Adeyemo, rumored Treasury Secretary, current Deputy Treasury Secretary, first chief of staff of Warren’s CFPB and whose office authored a draconian set of legislative requests to grant Treasury expansive powers to crack down on crypto
-Gary Gensler — but wait, you say, he’s a Biden appointee! Yes — but his term goes through 2026, and unlikely Harris ousts a sitting SEC Chair and goes through a bruising nomination fight when he’s already in power.
-Caroline Crenshaw — currently up for a new term as SEC commissioner; if Harris wins, likely gets confirmed in lame duck. Wrote aggressive dissent re BTC ETFs saying Bitcoin was only good for money laundering
-Christy Goldsmith Romero — close ally of Better Markets/Warren. Currently up for FDIC Chair; Harris wins, gets confirmed in lame duck
