If you think you're saving the planet by setting your AC to 78 degrees... please know that I will be setting mine to 32 degrees to cancel you out.
Fuck you.
This is an utter embarrassment.
The mayor of the leading city in the world’s most powerful country is admitting that NYC’s infrastructure is so antiquated that it can’t even run the air conditioning.
How do you think Singapore — at the equator— manages?
Fuck you to everyone even remotely responsible for this hemorrhoid of a human being becoming the mayor of our most important city.
If this is the future of America we are all completely fucked.
People have died in France because of the extreme heat.
Then the deputy mayor of Paris reportedly said:
“Americans laughed at us for not having air conditioning.”
“Global warming is the fault of America, one of the biggest emitting countries.”
…Wait a second.
When your own people are collapsing from the heat,
your first reaction is to blame America?
An American woman currently staying in France fired back hard.
“People are not dying because of America.
They are dying because the French government still has not put proper electricity and air conditioning in schools, hospitals, and homes in 2026.
Paris is one of the most expensive cities in the world.
The taxes are incredibly high.
And you still don’t have air conditioning?
Before laughing at America,
protect your own people.
Children can’t go to school because the classrooms are too hot.
Elderly people are being put in danger.
And you still want to blame America?
No.
That is a failure of politics.
You can pretend to be an environmental leader all you want.
But a government that can’t even keep its own citizens cool has no business talking about ‘saving the planet.’
Before immigration policies and grand ideals,
the French government should first build a country where its own citizens can simply live safely.
No more excuses.
Install the air conditioning.”
Americans have every right to be angry about this.
So, French government,
before blaming America, let me ask you:
Where did all those high taxes go?
If you can’t even keep your own people cool,
how exactly are you going to save the planet?
Mayor Mandami has shown us the reality of big government socialism’s inability to solve problems. Telling New Yorkers to set their air conditioning at 78 degrees is an open admission of the failure of the left to provide enough inexpensive electricity that people can be comfortable even in hot weather. Does anyone believe Madison Square Garden will be at 78 degrees for the Taylor Swift -Travis Kelce Wedding. Big government socialism always takes care of the well connected while causing pain and deprivation for normal everyday people. Mandami is no different. Reporter should ask him if he is going to ask Taylor Swift to sweat through her wedding at the Mandami dictated 78 degrees. That would lead to the wedding moving to a red state where they have adequate electricity for air conditioning.
Actually, live your life normally, use your AC in whatever manner keeps you comfortable, and if the grid collapses make them explain why we don’t have power generation capacity sufficient to our needs as a city, and make them fix it by building more capacity.
Do not acquiesce or normalize any of this. Nothing socialists say can be taken in good faith.
They want to take away AC permanently (as they have in Europe) and they will do it first by getting you used to the idea that your AC must be turned down for ‘the greater good’, then by making it more expensive to purchase and operate through higher energy costs (also already happening), and finally by regulating it out of existence.
Just say no.
New York 🇺🇸 is connected with 345 kV Transmission Lines
Mumbai 🇮🇳 is connected with 765 kV Transmission Lines
Blaming an AC and telling people to conserve energy is justifying lack of investments of upgrading infrastructure
New York: it's hot out there, and the power grid is working overtime to keep us cool.
Set your AC to 78 degrees, turn off lights/electronics you're not using, and unplug what you can.
Our City is doing its part too: maintaining the 78 degrees rule in our buildings, dimming/turning off our lights during peak electricity demand, asking private partners to do the same, and powering down non-essential equipment.
A stable grid means the AC stays on, and lives are saved. Let's ease demand — and get through the heat — together.
@UtdMaI “All Ronaldo fans, are Ronaldo fans first, then football next. All Messi fans, are football fans first, then Messi fans next”.
I dint quite get until this this post. Ronaldo fans are actually not talking about football most times, they’re just idolising their idol.
@UtdMaI The fact that you have to combined two players' achievements in order for it to make sense in the competition against Messi is the answer to your question, but you don't realized it yet.
