Today was my last full day as an academic coach.A teacher popped into my room, & as we were talking, told me that she actually looked forward to PLCs the past couple years. Time is the most precious resource for teachers, so those words really meant everything to me. #EdCoach

I was reminded of the day my class visited our school garden for a lesson with our farmer, and they all got to pick bell peppers which they ate like apples the rest of the day. It was the cutest! #farm2school

Test scores are important, but they almost never tell the full story. A kindergartener who rarely speaks at school read 8 words to me today! Honestly, I felt honored that she read aloud to me. It was a huge milestone for her. A percentile could never capture that! #studentgrowth

2 former students popped in today! We reminisced on their 5th grade year (they’re sophomores in college) & talked about what they’re doing now. They said they think of me often & let me tell you, that right there is the magic of teaching. You often don’t know your impact!

I just saw a tv commercial saying that the TN voucher bill will raise teacher pay. I’ve never seen a commercial advertising a bill, ever, and the goal of that program is not to raise teacher pay. Raising teacher pay and investing in public schools is not dependent upon vouchers.

Today I saw 3 tiny Spidermen spot each other in the lobby and high five, read amazing pourqoui tales, handed out candy to some of our students, celebrated amazing science data with a fourth grade class, and received the sweetest text from a teacher. It was the perfect Halloween!
