@FaiselSadiq @AdamWagner1@DoughtyStPublic This screenshot is only indicative of the consequences of a military operation. At no point are Jewish people or Jewish identities mentioned in that retweet. There is no conflation since there is nothing to conflate with.
So yes, the selective and unprincipled application of atrocity crimes language will be denounced. Yes, the selective and unprincipled demands for accountability will be checked. It is a much better use of our time to demand consistency rather than partisanship.
I swore I would never return to this platform currently held together by two extremely thin and worn out pieces of ligature. But it matters that, at a time of long-documented, long-evidenced, and ongoing atrocity crimes, the profession understands its crucial role.
Advocating for one group of civilians over another has no place in current legal conversation; assumptions on competence of a given court due to displeasure for its subject-matter jurisdiction is appalling. Moreover, policing barristers’ work on this is as well.
@UKKvenom@easyJet They refused to answer me on the same question saying they never do - only to do just that as I’m already on my way to the airport. Zero info on which flights are impacted and for how long. Zero concern for the impact this has on passengers and their families.
During the 2014 war, which began after Hamas kidnapped and killed three Israelis, Netanyahu ignored calls from right-wing MPs to launch a ground invasion of Gaza. Harder to resist such demands this time: the trigger is much, much bigger, and his coalition is entirely right-wing
@NeuroBarrister I would tend to agree. While it’s important to celebrate victories, take stock of losses, and support colleagues in their work, the theatrics feel… out of place.
It’s even more disturbing that inquiries are *underway* and progress is usually reported back to elected officials. It’s selective memory, selective knowledge, and probably selective competence, too.
Sorry for being an Ulsterwoman, but I would like to point out to my wonderful peers across the invisible fault line that the Seanad has a sitting senator that has absolutely zero idea of Irish history, and the role of the state in gender-based violence. It’s disturbing.
The @NWCI must be defunded. Never in the history of this state has a group done so much damage to 'women' whom they purport to represent. They're a bloody disgrace. #defund#WomensRightsAreHumanRights
@ElaineCrory Whoa. The tweet itself was a lot of complete inaccuracies (she keeps refusing to be corrected in the replies), but the rest of the timeline makes me want to have an early glass of wine.
