🚨🚨 URGENT 🚨, L’HONNEUR RETROUVÉ DE L’#OPÉRATION_TURQUOISE : UN REVERS POUR LA PROPAGANDE DU RÉGIME DE #PAUL_KAGAME‼️

⚖️🟢 Après plus de vingt années de procédure, la Cour de cassation française a définitivement confirmé le non-lieu en faveur de cinq officiers de l’opération Turquoise mis en cause dans le dossier de #Bisesero. La justice n’a trouvé aucun élément permettant d’établir que ces militaires auraient volontairement facilité les massacres ou apporté une aide consciente aux auteurs du génocide. Cette décision met donc fin, devant les juridictions françaises, aux poursuites pénales engagées contre eux.

📍Il s’agit d’un sérieux revers politique et narratif pour le régime de #Kigali, qui a longtemps exploité les accusations portées contre l’opération Turquoise afin de présenter la #France comme complice du génocide. Plusieurs ONG et associations ont soutenu pendant vingt et un ans la thèse d’une responsabilité criminelle des militaires français à Bisesero. Or, malgré une instruction exceptionnellement longue, les preuves nécessaires à une mise en accusation n’ont pas été réunies.

♻️ La décision rejoint, sur ce point particulier, les conclusions défendues par Charles Onana dans son ouvrage Rwanda, la vérité sur l’opération Turquoise : quand les archives parlent enfin. La Cour n’a certes ni jugé ni validé l’ensemble de ce livre. Mais en écartant définitivement la complicité pénale des militaires concernés, elle renforce l’un de ses arguments essentiels : les accusations les plus graves dirigées contre l’opération Turquoise ne peuvent être transformées en vérités judiciaires par leur seule répétition.

⚖️🔨 Ce dénouement affaiblit ainsi une stratégie de communication ayant souvent servi à détourner l’attention des accusations visant le régime de Paul Kagame concernant ses propres violations des droits humains et les crimes attribués à ses forces, notamment en République démocratique du Congo - #RDC. La mémoire des victimes exige la vérité et la justice, mais également le respect des preuves. La propagande, la pression militante et la diffamation ne doivent jamais se substituer à la démonstration judiciaire. Après vingt et un ans de soupçons, l’honneur des militaires concernés est juridiquement rétabli.

🇷🇼 Rwanda’s inflation hits 15.7% as energy costs surge 45%

Rwanda’s cost-of-living pressures intensified in August, with annual inflation climbing to 15.7%, up from 14.5% in July, according to new data from the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda.

Some of the sharpest increases were recorded in everyday household expenses. Energy prices jumped 45.4% year-on-year, while transport increased 24.2% and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels rose 20.4%.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages were 16.3% more expensive than a year earlier, while fresh products increased 20.9%.

According to NISR @statisticsRW , Rwanda’s inflation crisis is apparently caused by women dressing “indecently,” young women refusing to marry, and “ibigarasha”keeping patriotic officials busy arguing online.

Plus de 32 ans après le génocide, la propagande et les accusations politiques visant les soldats français engagés dans l’opération Turquoise doivent cesser.

Il est temps que la tragédie rwandaise soit examinée avec honnêteté, sur la base des faits et des preuves, loin de toute instrumentalisation politique.

A tourist user named Tanya (@tanyanatasha_ ) says she has decided to return to the UK, complaining that Rwanda has “no cinema,” nightlife ends by 1 a.m., women are being pressured to “dress like the nuns in Sister Act,” and the entire country “shares 1 KFC.”

Her video on tiktok has attracted around over 1.5 million views, turning her complaints into another viral discussion about life in Rwanda.

The post comes amid a wider controversy over the policing of women’s clothing in Rwanda and what authorities and venues consider “indecent” dress and now woman are being pressured to wear full coverage dress and throw away mini dress... where some arrest of woman has been recorded in western part of country..

#KIGALI: THE OTHER SIDE OF THE “CLEANEST CITY IN #AFRICA”

Kigali is often presented as one of the cleanest and best-organized cities in #Africa. But there is another side of the story that deserves to be discussed.
Some residents are reporting long periods without reliable access to water.

Imagine having a toilet inside your house but not having enough water to flush it, wash your hands, clean your home, cook, or maintain basic hygiene. When water is unavailable for days, keeping a household clean becomes extremely difficult.

And this raises an important question:
What does “the cleanest city” really mean if some residents cannot reliably access enough water to keep their own homes clean?
Where are the promises of Vision 2020?
#Rwanda’s Vision 2020 and subsequent water policies set extremely ambitious development targets. Government policy documents envisioned universal access to water and sanitation, with 100% coverage targeted by 2020.

Yet here we are in 2026, and reliable access to water remains a challenge for many communities.
Even more strikingly, #Rwanda’s current water strategy states that, as of 2023/24, 82.3% of households had access to improved water sources, with a new target of 100% access by 2028/29.
So after all the promises of transformation and development, people are still asking for something as basic as reliable water in their homes.

Development should not be measured only by flattering newspaper articles, clean streets, modern buildings, or impressive statistics.
Development should also mean:
- Water in people’s homes.
- Functional sanitation.
- The ability to maintain basic hygiene.
- Clean and dignified living conditions.
- Basic public services that ordinary citizens can actually rely on.

A city cannot truly claim to be clean if some of its residents do not have enough water to keep their own homes clean.
@CityofKigali deserves beautiful streets.
But #Kigali’s residents also deserve water.
Promises should become reality. Development should reach ordinary people. And citizens deserve accountability when basic needs remain unmet.

President @WilliamsRuto and our Kenyan brothers and sisters, let us remember that Kenyans are also doing small businesses in other African countries, especially in East Africa.

If every African country decided to stop foreigners from doing small businesses, what would happen to Kenyans living and working across the continent?

It is a shame for a president like Ruto, who has repeatedly said that he cares about small business people (the hustlers) to support policies that could hurt ordinary African traders who are simply trying to make a living.

We should protect opportunities for our citizens, but we should also respect African unity, cooperation, trade, and the free movement of our people.

What is wrong when other Africans do business in #Kenya should also be considered wrong when Kenyans do business in other African countries.
What goes around can come around.

What affects one African today can affect another African tomorrow.

🇷🇼 Victoire Ingabire is not on trial because she represents a threat to #Rwanda’s security. She is on trial because she represents a political challenge to @PaulKagame’s rule.

The UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has found her detention arbitrary and called for @VictoireUmuhoza’s immediate release. Yet she remains behind bars and faces treason-related charges.

When peaceful opposition is repeatedly met with arrests, imprisonment and charges such as treason, the real issue is no longer the opposition; it is a political system that treats dissent as a crime.

As @ThisIsAfricaTIA puts it: “When treason charges become a shortcut for dealing with political opponents, democracy itself is put on trial.”

When President @PaulKagame was asked about Rwanda’s financial crisis during his latest press conference, he evaded the question by saying it is happening everywhere. Yet during his campaign, he promised to prioritize economic opportunity and raise salaries while wages have barely moved for years and prices and inflation keep rising.

Rwandan women have had enough. Despite the real risks, they are speaking out, especially after @Rwandapolice violence against women.

I am proud of my fellow Rwandan women. Once again, after @VictoireUmuhoza and @Dianerwigara they are showing courage and proving that Rwandan women can stand up and fight to save their nation.
