I am so excited to share that my first first-author publication is out! The paper is all about understanding the formation of CO from acetone photolysis, whether that's triple fragmentation (in blue), or roaming (in red) https://t.co/m00BHjnWQu
In lockdown, goodbyes get creative
After quite a few years in the group @darth_welshie and @Lorrie_SD_Jacob are moving on to their next adventures, best of luck you two!!
The Molecular Photonics website is live 🎉🎉🎉
The website is a collaboration between the @KableGroup_UNSW, @TWSchmidtGroup, Jordan Group, @HansenGroupUNSW, and Medcraft Group. Have a look at https://t.co/ArqiK9zJAK for openings, updates, and information about our research.
My Masters degree on acetone photochemistry is complete! Turns out that even if a molecule seems simple, its photochemistry can still be pretty complicated 😅
Our most recent opus on the photochemistry of H₂S has appeared online! A collaboration spanning three continents with experiments performed in Dalian and Sydney. Thanks @KableGroup_UNSW for letting us borrow legendary experimentalist Jyoti Campbell.

Sydney might be in lockdown, but we can still make our moments count!
Virtual pub to farewell postdoc @keiranrowell, and celebrate @Lorrie_SD_Jacob submitting her Masters Thesis
Jyoti Campbell from @KableGroup_UNSW starts off @UNSWChemSociety presentations at Science Showcase talking about lasers, preventing climate disasters & a molecule produced by new refrigerants that's far worse than CO2 for global warming. @RACI_PhysChem
The International Symposium on Molecular Beams has long been one of my favourite meetings. It was an honour this evening to open day 2 of ISMB2021 with my invited talk sharing the latest results from the very productive @HansenGroupUNSW & @KableGroup_UNSW collaboration.
Back to group meetings online with the current Sydney lockdown. At least it means family members might learn something about gas phase photochemistry 😄
Congratulations on submitting your thesis @darth_welshie!! 🎉🎉🎉
Celebrating in true style with pumpkin pie using the best spoon and plate combo we could find 😅
For group meeting today @kable_scott gave us a master class on atmospheric chemistry. Our backgrounds are a mix of physics, chemistry and engineering, but a lot of us apply our work to the atmosphere, making the workshop very useful!
It was fun having professionals come film @Lorrie_SD_Jacob and Jyoti Campbell's daily activities #WomenInSTEM
Can't wait until the video is up on the new School of Chemistry Website!
Perks of the virtual world: having an amazing talk from the US at our group meeting by @radchemistry. Thank you so much for joining us and sharing your research Colleen!
It's day 1 of the Kable Group, Jordan Group and @TWSchmidtGroup Writing Retreat. We had a great start with a talk from @cmmmsubmm and @kable_scott about writing and now we are hard at work getting outlines done for our papers!
