I'm in love with this quote
“Do not carry the worries of this life because this is for Allah. And do not carry the worries of sustenance because it is from Allah. And do not carry the anxiety for the future because it is in the Hands of Allah.”
— Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله

Happy to receive my official PhD graduation portraits by post.
Looking back, this journey has been nothing short of transformative — intellectually, emotionally, and personally.
My PhD experience tested my resilience in ways I could never have imagined. From the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, to battling serious health challenges that led to multiple surgeries, to the struggle of securing research participants in the complex world of big data and innovation — the road was tough, winding, and, at times, uncertain.
Yet, through it all, I learned to embrace the messiness of human experience, think critically like a detective, and appreciate the nuances in every story and dataset.
I also found strength in community — from serving as the pioneer President of the Coventry University Postgraduate Research Society to building relationships with inspiring colleagues and mentors whose support kept me going when quitting felt easier.
If there’s one lesson this journey has taught me, it’s that every challenge refines you, not defines you.
“There is always light at the end of the tunnel — sometimes faint, but always there for those who keep moving.”
To every researcher still on the path — stay focused, stay hopeful, and trust the process. The PhD journey is demanding, yes, but the growth, wisdom, and fulfillment it brings are truly worth it.
