Dahmer was a serial killer who murdered and dismembered 17 males between 1978 and 1991. He also cannibalised the remains of some of his victims.

In February 1992 Dahmer was sentenced to 15 consecutive life terms; a 16th consecutive life sentence was added in May for the murder he committed in 1978.

Dahmer was murdered by a fellow inmate in a Wisconsin prison in 1994.

Congratulations to all of the members of the new Executive Committee at the International Cotton Researchers Association (ICRA). They were recognised during the 7th World Cotton Research Conference (WCRC), happening now in Cairo, and will serve until the next conference in 2026.

The ICAC was back on the ground in Cameroon on 20 September, changing the lives of people who need help the most: small holder cotton farmers.

It was a 'train the trainers' session to impart best practices to cotton professionals who will take their knowledge to other farmers.

It provides critical employment and income to women in many least-developed countries, and because cotton cultivation absorbs more CO2 than it produces, growing cotton actually fights climate change.

Truly, cotton deserves its own special day of recognition and celebration!

The resolution was submitted by the C4 — Burkina Faso, Benin, Chad and Mali — and once adopted, it provided a huge boost in visibility and awareness about all of the good that cotton does.

Every tonne of cotton provides full-time, year-round employment for about five people.

It was one year ago this month that World Cotton Day got some very big news:

The United Nations announced, in recognition of the positive impact of the world's most important natural fibre, that it would reserve 7 October as 'World Cotton Day' on its permanent calendar.
