New study evaluates the ambition – implementation gap for non-state actors: over 3000 cities and regions of the G20 nations. While ambition is growing, more than half are failing to meet targets and even more are not on track for reductions necessary to keep 1.5°C of warming in reach.

The current climate ambition from G20 cities and regions represents ~20% of current global annual GHG emissions. Increased number of climate targets can lead us to more emission reductions and get closer to achieving 1.5 degree climate goals.
