KADUNA POLYTECHNIC MANAGEMENT ADDRESSES INCIDENT INVOLVING DRESS CODE ENFORCEMENT IN THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT STUDIES (CBMS)

The Management of Kaduna Polytechnic has taken note of the viral video circulating on social media today, Thursday 12 March 2026, depicting an incident where some students at the Polytechnie's College of Business and Management Studies CBMS), were prevented from attending their lectures by members of the Polytechnic's Dress Code Committee.
The Management wishes to state clearly that the dresses worn by the affected students, as shown in the viral video, appear moderate and appropriate. In the view of this, the students in question ought not to have been barred from their lectures on this basis.
Kaduna Polytechnic maintains a Dress Code Policy aimed at promoting decency, professionalism, and a conducive learning environment for all students and staff. The Dress Code Committee is mandated to enforce this policy in line with the established guidelines and regulations of the Institution. However, enforcement must remain within the bounds of the approved policy and must not be carried out in an extreme or arbitrary manner.
The Management has immediately initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident to ascertain the facts and determine any lapses in the application of the policy. Appropriate measures will be taken to resolve the matter swiftly and fairly, and to prevent any recurrence of overzealous enforcement.
In the meantime, the Management reaffirms its commitment to upholding the Dress Code Policy while ensuring that students' rights to education are not unduly impeded. All students are strongly advised to adhere to the Institution's dress code at all times.
Furthermore, students with complaints or concerns are encouraged to channel them through the official channels rather than resorting to social media or other unofficial platforms.
Kaduna Polytechnic remains dedicated to fostering a disciplined, respectful, and academically focused campus environment for the benefit of all stakeholders.

Uba Sani visits China to finalise deal on $200m poultry project

Uba Sani, Kaduna state governor, is in Beijing to conclude agreements with the Chinese government on a $200 million model integrated poultry development project.

In a statement on Saturday, Ahmed Maiyaki, commissioner of Information, said the project is expected to generate over $450 million annually and create about 350,000 direct and indirect jobs in the state.

Maiyaki said the governor is accompanied by a federal government delegation led by Joseph Tegba, director-general of the Nigeria-China strategic partnership, signalling the project’s national importance.
