@VITOLINOBOSS There were a lot of low effort games and the final puzzle sucked so bad. When are we gonna get another Ready Player One type event where we don't know which games have the secret badges and we get to explore on our own? ๐๐
@CallShotX@WillB_GoBlue@electionsjoe Although I do see your point, if someone pursues a career that costs THAT much for an education with low yield, pulling out a loan that big is kinda dumb
@CallShotX@WillB_GoBlue@electionsjoe Lower paying jobs' degrees rarely cost that much. A lot of these jobs actually require less years of education than the higher paying ones you attend college longer for. Most of these lower paying jobs also apply to people who aren't super wealthy and just want a decent job.
@JuneH79@CallShotX@electionsjoe It's easy for them to drive prices up in response to something, but what makes you think this is going to easily make them drop 'em back down? This bill would end up hurting a lot of people before it even sees meaningful results
@WillB_GoBlue@CallShotX@electionsjoe As I said, the goal isn't to keep giving out loans aimlessly, I said it would be beneficial for the government to find a way to enforce the loans rather than eliminate them
@CallShotX@electionsjoe You speak as if all of the jobs that would be affected by this bill aren't in demand, but they're there. Jobs like medical assisting and teaching are still very widely needed. Just because a job is low pay doesn't mean it doesn't have enough jobs available
@WillB_GoBlue@CallShotX@electionsjoe There's still a problem with that, government loans are much more lenient in things like credit score checks, imagine being a student straight out of high school who doesn't has a credit score yet, now suddenly that option isn't viable to them
@CallShotX@electionsjoe Even if they do raise salaries, that creates another consequence: employers won't hire as many people in that industry now that the salary is higher, and some of those jobs still need credentials and won't get by with just training alone, unless they sponsor a course or something
@WillB_GoBlue@CallShotX@electionsjoe but isn't that why loans exist in the first place
I dunno what the method would be but I feel like it would be better to find a way to make sure they pay their loans rather than just ban them entirely
@CallShotX@electionsjoe and from a more human perspective, restricting someone from taking out loans to afford tuition for these degrees would likely prevent a lot of people from doing the thing they wanna do because they couldn't afford it
@CallShotX@electionsjoe some of those lower paying careers are still important and need to be filled, so banning people from taking out loans is just creating another issue
@CallShotX@electionsjoe I feel like youโre putting too much faith in colleges when theyโre able to still generate a lot of revenue from students without those degrees, thereโs absolutely no guarantee they would lower tuition just because of this
@KreekCraft You wouldโve thought the final puzzle would be something that actually made you use skills or think, but noโฆ a damned slider puzzle ๐ญ
