Even in this framing the defense of the liz Cheney rallies is that they were totally pointless rather than a net negative. Do we really think people who pay enough attention to know who she was campaigning with were waiting on the Cheney endorsement?

The "strategy" was two rallies, and she actually won people who pay close enough attention to politics that they know who the candidates campaign with. She lost by getting crushed among barely sentient swing voters who learned Biden dropped out in the voting booth.
