Black clover had so many arcs that felt like it was supposed to be the final one, and with the release schedule, the finale doesn't have much "impact" for me.
Kind of surprised it still hasn't gotten much merch as a relatively big shonen series.
It's going to be a long time until there's official skins or even collabs for Deadlock, but Mina and 2B share so many design elements that they would be perfect for a collab skin.
I wasn't planning on spending rolls on the Angels of Delusion, but the group combat animations are so cute I felt the need to complete the group. I hope I still can get Promeia though.
After thinking for a while, my feelings haven't changed much. I can see the vision for it to be a great ending, but the execution isn't there for me.
What actually happens in the story tends to conflicts with what I think the story is trying to say.

I don't think I'm fully able to articulate it yet, but there might be a level of meta commentary regarding chainsawman and possibly Fujimoto. They enjoy the attention they get, and the public pushes them to continue, but it's self destructive to a certain extent.
Seeing "media literacy" comments. I want to clarify that I feel this way as Denji didn't have much if any agency in the reset.
While it makes sense that a lot of Denji's problems are because of chainsawman, none of his character flaws were resolved outside of the erasure.
@Flaeonian@wanderjegson Okay, but prioritizing fame over family is a character flaw that Denji can have even without being chainsawman.
The only thing different with this ending, is that chainsawman doesn't exist. Denji hasn't resolved any of his other issues.
@Flaeonian@wanderjegson I'm sorry, even if it were the intention of the story for it to be the wrong choice, it doesn't really work when he would have lost his loved ones with or without transforming.
The end goal of Barem was to mentally break him so Pochita would come out.
@Flaeonian@wanderjegson More to the point of my initial comment, I know that being chainsawman puts a target on his back, but I think that the message of "don't be chainsawman" oversimplifies Denji's problems. Even without chainsawman, Denji has a quite a few issues that prevents him from being happy.
I'll be so honest, there were some sweet moments, but this really felt like a "I just want to end the series and move on" kind of ending from Fujimoto. Which is a real shame for something like chainsaw man.

I need a while to process it and I might change my mind later. But 1st impressions, it seems like a lukewarm "happy ending" that could have been used whenever Fujimoto wanted to end.
I do like this scene and it'll definitely go hard in the anime.

I'm still a believer in Fujimoto but I'm still filled with anxiety... I don't think I've felt this way about a media release in a long long while.
At this point, I just want it to come out already just so I can stop theorizing what it could be...
