@HSanJWijekoon Privileging one religion to allow or remove the scarfโฆ it is a sign of respect to remove head-wear in temples. So how do you address this conundrum?
We had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Irace to the Dept. (@UoMArchitecture) to interact with our students and see their work! He visited the BArch L3 and L5 Studios and also engaged with the new Level 1 students. It was inspiring to witness his versatility and sensibility...๐๐ฑ
Me and my colleagues were invited by Italian ambassador Damiano Francovigh to the insightful lecture given by Prof. Fulvio Irace on the work of Artist/ Architect Alessandro Mendini to mark the Italian Design Day! It was great connecting with the Italian Embassy and Prof. Irace โบ๏ธ
Recieving a token of appreciation for moderating a panel discussion at the SLIA National Conference 2024โฆ I was excited to find that it was โIniโ, book on the work of Archt. Vijitha Basnayake, edited by my mentor Dr. Milinda Pathirajaโฆ I feel so honored to receive this gift. โบ๏ธ
Excited to share some photographs from yesterday, when I moderated a panel discussion at the 42nd National Conference of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects! Iโm thankful to SLIA for the invitation, and to my panelists for the wonderful discussion! โฅ๏ธ
Special thanks to our students of the architecture studentsโ society for collaborating with the Level 5 studio to organize the event under the #talkdwell banner and opening it up for the entire Department. (Thanks to Prof. Chintha J. and the Dept. of Civil Eng. for the venue) 3/3
I met Prof. Nihal quite by chance at the Minette de Silva exhibition at the @mmcasrilanka while on a guided tour with my students. It was wonderful to meet in person someone whom Iโve met through his writings (Decolonizing Ceylon, Peopleโs spaces, Critical vernacularism etc.) 1/3
We were very glad to feature Prof. Nihal on our series #talkdwell. His lecture on โThinking architecture from the place of Productionโ was inspired! and it was my pleasure to moderate the session. @UoMArchitecture looks forward to more collaborations in the future. (2/3)
@kulanthisilva I wasnโt curious @kulanthisilvaโฆ it was more of a rhetorical question. Iโm certainly not interested in pursuing the question, even out of mild curiosity, if you are beating around the bush. Respectfully agree to disagree on the core argument. ๐๐ผ
@kulanthisilva The undertones to your answer makes me much less surprised regarding your position. ๐
No comment regarding the unrelated information offered. I stand by my position regarding society being a safer place. I think the public response points to more poignant issues.
@kulanthisilva I am not celebrating his death. (I will celebrate when the political culture that he represented dies.) I also wonโt go out of my way to reprimand the defeated, long suffering people of Sri Lanka for their lack of moral superiority.
#throwback to Compeering at the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects National Conference 2021 โบ๏ธ, (held virtually due to the pandemic).
Pleased to be on the National Conference organizing committee for 2024, and being able to discuss and propose the conference theme.
