Security services are investigating a suspected explosive device that was found at Kalerwe Market in Kawempe Division this morning. The army spokesperson, Major General Felix Kulaigye, said one person, a female reportedly linked to the ADF, was shot dead. The attackers were allegedly targeting Kalerwe Market and nearby religious sites.

UPDATE: Buganda Kingdom has released its budget for the 2025/2026 financial year, amounting to Shs305 billion #MonitorUpdates
While presenting the budget at Bulange, Mengo, the Kingdom’s Minister for Finance, Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, announced an increase in revenue collection for the 2024/2025 financial year. The kingdom collected Shs264 billion, surpassing the projected Shs257 billion, while total expenditure stood at Shs263 billion.
Mr Nsibirwa also revealed that coffee growing and production remains the leading contributor to the kingdom’s revenue, Shabibah Nakirigya reports.
