#fys05xu but I'm kind of confused as to why the Meduse did this to her without her consent. She said she can no longer braid her "hair" into her family's code pattern which I think took a toll on her because it has great sentimental value.

#fys05xu I got really confused when she dropped her edan in front of the chief and got stung. I thought she had died at first... but I realized she wasn't when she "woke up"

#fys05xu I'm not quite sure what that sting did to her completely, but it is the reason her "hair" changed. "the okuoko were soft but firm and slippery with wetness"... I know the Meduse haven't given a human this 'honor' in a long time because the stinger being taken.

#fys05xu page 72, I thought it was interesting how Binti was talking about her otjize. When she was young how she snuck out with her friends and spent hours washing it off. I think that this has religious correlations with todays society. the "mentally unstable" was interesting
